Nice flowers. In the dying area of the Flower District (see articles in Daily News and WNYC), we were tipped off to Fischer & Page yesterday.
Fischer & Page carries on the tradition as "wholesalers and importers of fine blooms." They carry branches (Cherry, Lilac...), cut flowers (Lilies, Orchids, Peonies...), and roses (Dutch, Ecuadorian....) which are all arriving fresh in their shop each morning from all over the world. Environmental concerns aside, the flower business is remarkable for its ability to get a bloom from Holland to the 28th street in less than 24 hours.
Fischer & Page is fancy and you pay for freshness. With customers like The Four Seasons and The Plaza, this is the place to go for a special occasion. Their website is fantastic, even letting you view flowers by color, and they ship out of town via Federal Express. (Thanks, Charles!) MGR
