We've loved these glasses in Masa's booth before, but today we had a new lens and were able to get really close so that you could see how fine these things really are. Made in Japan, these glasses are expensive and available only through Masa's website (though they used to be at Takashimaya)...

Apparently the glasses are made by a female artist, Shizuyo Seagusa, and the line is called Kikatsu:
Female artist, Shizuyo Seagusa, chief designer for Kimura Glass Company in Tokyo, Japan, has created the Kikatsu glassware collection. Each glass is a unique work of art with every aspect contributing to the artistic expression - from the thickness of the glass to the size and shape, and finally to the etched design that completes the piece.

I am besotted with etched glassware - can't get enough! I saw these at Global Table in NYC last year (I am from Australia, so can't get them shipped, but might have to purchase on my trip in April as I haven't stopped thinking about them!!)
They look and feel so fine, but are tough - they are made from the same type of glass that Pyrex is (borosilicate) - apparently, you can whack 'em in the dishwasher...!
There are three styles, wine, water, champagne.
approx USD$68 for six
