Simply Gorgeous. This collection was one of our favorites from the entire gift fair! Transylvanian Images imports beautiful handmade textiles from Eastern Europe. The textiles are made into stunningly simple kitchen towels, pillow cases, table runners and baby blankets...
"Our hand-woven textiles are made from the finest vintage, hand -processed, hand-spun, organic hemp or boiled linen that were woven on authentic handlooms. Their fabric content varies from a makeup of 100% hemp or boiled linen to a blend of 80% hemp or linen and 20% cotton.All are machine-washable. The flax and hemp used in our linens was grown without pesticides on family farms, then harvested, processed and spun by hand. By educating consumers and establishing a market for these wonderful products, we strive to create jobs for villagers in Transylvania and to revive the production and use of natural fibers."
We love the soft knubbly texture and the natural hues combined with the simple colored stripes.
