apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Friday Giveaway: New Closets from Astech Closet

Congratulations to Kelly Rakowski, who won last weeks Giveaway: 3 Hrs of Organizing with The Clutter Cowgirl

cherryreach-in.jpgService: Astech Closets
Value: $1500

Description: We've known and worked with Bill Skinner of Astech Closets for a number of years now, and this week he's giving away a redo of one of your closets, or at least $1500 towards a total overhaul of whatever you've got.

Here's Astech's pitch: All Astech closet systems are custom designed. Customers work with an Astech designer to decide on shelves, drawers, clothes bars and hideaway hampers. Then they select their desired finished for the shelves and hardware (seven wood finishes and four metal hardware finishes are available). The designer then creates a computer generated preview of the system.

Next, experienced Astech installers go on-site to turn the design into a reality. Skinner, a respected general contractor for 20-plus years, employs experienced carpenters exclusively...

Ultimately, they produce a closet system that is "personally functional" for the consumer. "There is a high level of customer satisfaction because the resulting system addresses the user's habits. It's really a "can't miss" situation for everyone involved, " Skinner said.

Despite my organising OCD my current closet is a large metro shelving unit (no budget to upgrade). Its open and vaguely disorganised state that gives me agita every time I look at it. I dream of a closet system I can look upon, and be filled with a zen 'everything in its place feeling'.

If you pick me you will actually be doubling your do-good contribution by keeping me out of bellevue!!

I'd be thrilled to have you design a closet for me, I'm moving shortly to a studio co-op and one of my big projects is the closet/dressing area before you get to the bathroom. There's a decent amount of space to do something really great, and given the $$ outlay btw the deposit and closing, I could sure use some help!

Ever since I was 10 years old and I saw the movie Overboard and Kurt Russell built Goldie Hawn her very own walk in closet with shoe shelves and everything a girl could ever want I have dreamed of having something that fancy. Make my dream come true! I will appreciate it way more than she did!!

Oh man, oh man. What a deal! Here's my plea: As a single, female do-it-yourselfer, I refinished 1900 square feet of flooring on a Seattle house...all by myself. Now I live in NY and need a break. My closet is in desperate need of an overhaul. (Plus, I'm a fabulous tipper).

I live in a studio with my dog, Oreo, and my closet consist of a narrow 20 ft hanging space and I am 5'2". You can only imagine how fun it is for me every morning to jump for my clothes.

If there is ANY solution for me to have ANY sort of closet, I would think you were a magician.
PLEASE PICK ME. I'm desperate to see my clothes, LOOK for my clothes, and understand WHERE my clothes are.

Thank you. Annie
