A few weeks ago I was re-reading my dog eared copy of Apartment Therapy and had an epiphany... one of those A-ha! moments. The blue and green accent's in my living room weren't working for me..... re-reading the section about color I realized I needed warmer colors for my living room area. Out went all the blues and greens and in came the reds, the rusts, and the bronzes. It was an immediate fix! No longer did I feel unsettled in my living room! This great little red Eames number would complete my mini makeover. Even if I don't win, thank you, AGAIN, AT.... I heart you.

I saved up for my very own red Eames chair for a year, and on my birthday—and to celebrate paying off my student loans—I purchased it for myself. It was great and looked amazing against my grey walls. I went to Iraq, and after returning from overseas, work moved me to “the Big City” where I had to downsize from 1,000 sq. ft. to under 385. My red chair, its black chair mate and my bed were all I could fit in my new apartment! So I saved up for almost two years and purchased a Murphy Bed, which I installed myself (big mistake). On the second night of sleeping in it, the Murphy bed collapsed from the wall, swallowed me and crushed my red chair to splinters. I miss my red chair.

I don't have any sort of red tones in my home but I can make it work. I love this chair!!!

i just bought some ceiling fans from Casablanca. One of them is called the Scandia (the other is Astro) which is inspired by Eames bent woods designs and hangs in my great room/kitchen area. Its quite a fresh difference from the regular style ceilings fans most homes have.
