Pretty Please! My earliest memory is of my mom holding my hands (in that teaching a baby to walk way) and dancing while the Thriller video was playing on TV. The best part was, while this was going on, my older brother was hiding behind a cane backed rocking chair because that video was too scary for him.

This is one of many memories that flashed before my eyes when I got the bad news that my childhood hero was dead.

I would cherish the records with all my heart.

My boyfriend, who's 27th birthday is TODAY, is currently serving overseas in Afghanistan. He owns an awesome 70s record player that he bought at a garage sale years ago, and he loves collecting records. I have a friend who is a uber-fan, and was devastated when MJ died. He attended MJ's trail, watching from inside the court room. For this he drove from Kansas City to California with a friend. During that time he wanted MJ's autograph, but never got it. He contacted MJ's agent, and ended up getting on the super fan list, and would often receive signed posters for his birthday. Receiving something like this would make him ecstatic.

Well, what can I "Say Say Say"... I "Remember the Time" when I would watch the "Thriller" video and mimick MJ's moves. I thought I was "Bad!" I also watched the video "The Way You Make Me Feel," and I would imagine that I was MJ's "PYT" -- Pretty Young Thing. :) After professing my love to the TV screen, my sister would tell me, you "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'?" MJ is my boyfriend. Since she was no competition to me, I told her to "Beat It."

I know I'm dating myself, but one of my fondest childhood memories is of my dad driving me all over town to find a copy of Rockin' Robin. There wasn't a single 45 to be had in the entire town so he bought me the 8-track....then had to buy me an 8-track tape player to play it.

my boyfriend is a producer and has been sampling MJ for years in his music and is a major record collector. i'm a journalist who was among the first people to break the story of his passing.

i grew up listening to Michael and i remember my dad's (a recent immigrant from India) first tape-as-gift to me was a Michael Jackson mixtape. His music touched every generation & every nation. I was thinking about how insane it is that my future children will grow up in a world where Michael Jackson is described as the 'late great'. He's been a part of everyone's cultural memory and I just can't imagine how differently future generations will experience his genius..

I'd love to have a piece of that history to share with my kids... PLEASE! i'm begging! I'm moonwalking! I wish you could see how the carpet tiles beneath my feet are lighting up!

so many of my happy moments from my childhood with my younger brother and my mother are centered around dancing to MJ. his music was the first thing i remember dancing to and the first song i ever taught my brother how to dance to was "don't stop til you get enough". he'd ask us to play the "pull your pants up song"...i think he still sings those words! some of the only times i remember seeing my mother laugh during those times were while watching us be silly and dance to MJ. to this day we can still crack her up with the good thriller routine after Thanksgiving dinner. i'd love to suprise my brother with the thriller album when he comes to visit me in nyc for the first time in august.

My parents had both of these when I was a child, one of my first memories is of the Vincent Price rap during Thriller and how it scared me. :-) After MJ died I emailed my mom to see if she still had these albums and she told me she had given all her vinyl away a few years ago. I was so upset.....she keeps EVERYTHING. I've been searching for them online to see if I can purchase them for a reasonable price. Now I am thinking I should buy up all the albums of my youth while the artist are still alive.

OMG I absolutely love MJ!! I was laid off work Thursday and I came home only to find out MJ had died. It was really the worst day ever.

I would really appreciate these records like you wouldn't believe. I came from Europe when I was really young and I didn't want to learn English but I couldn't resist MJ's music. I even learned part of his dances I would do at school to make friends when I was 4 :) He's a big part of my life and I'm really sad that he's gone but in a way I'm glad everyone around the world is celebrating his music.
