Description: With the last quiet week of summer and school and work ahead, we thought we'd kick off the fall with our favorite task lamp, the Tolomeo Classic by Artemide. We have one of these beautiful lamps to give away in polished die-cast aluminum. Jump in and go below....

"In 1989, when the Tolomeo table/task was given the Compasso d'Oro award for Italian industrial design it was credited with having achieved the perfect marriage between design and engineering that works together in total "sync" to materialize an idea and create the perfect object for industrial production.
Since then, the Tolomeo's award-winning design, engineering and performance features have been further refined in a complete series of models for table, floor, wall, track and suspension application.
This is the classic table lamp. It features a fully-adjustable, articulated arm body structure in extruded, brilliant, natural anodized aluminum, white or black. For all finishes- joints, tension control knobs and mountings are polished die-cast aluminum, and cables are stainless steel. The 6" diameter diffuser is made of stamped, anodized matte aluminum, tiltable and 360 degree rotatable on lampholder with incorporated on/off switch."

I've separated my one long living/dining room into a living/reading and work/sewing space with a wrought iron screen (it's a frame, but mostly space -- a grid with some leaves and a bird's nest). Everything's in the open, so I try to keep the room not just tidy but beautiful and restful to the eye -- as few objects as I can manage and still live my life comfortably, but those objects pleasing. I have an old chestnut high school shop work bench in the work area for everything but the sewing machine (work/read the paper/do bills/cut fabric). This lamp would make me very happy.
