I'd love one of these for my kitchen. I tried chalkboard paint, but failed miserably .. I let the paint can sit for too long before getting around to it and by the time I opened it up all the magnetic parts had stuck to themselves in a giant clump.

I would use these over the aluminum mail baskets I've set up for my husband and myself... to write out whose is whose. We'd also use them to create a monthly calendar that shows where we should be and when, and for random notes like, "Don't forget your checkbook" or "I like hummingbirds."

I think there is some innate quality about a chalkboard that motivates its usage. It beckons to be used, and without the intimidation that often accompanies a blank piece of paper.

Perhaps because drawing on stone was one of the first 2-dimensional art forms and means of written communication. Perhaps it reminds us of the childhood learning experience. Or yet still, the ease of wiping it clean and starting anew.

I am a play therapist for young children and the last thing I want to do after 8 hours of therapy is get out the goo gone and wipe all the crayon marks off the walls each evening. With chalkboards mounted, we could play with sponges and a bucket of water for the last ten minutes of each session....thus supporting self-care skills in the form of cleaning up after oneself while getting me out the door before I hit overtime!

I can think of so many places to use these handy boards. What a great idea to make them so they don't damage or mark the walls!

With so much of what has been memorable disappearing it's great to see that I can pass along the childhood experiences I had to my two grandchildren. Technology is wonderful but it has no soul. Nothing can ever replace the smell of the caulk or the fun of drawing on a wall.

While these are a great invention ! These would give my little ones a "safe place" to get their artistic endeavors out without marking up my walls, I love the wipe off chalkboard features !

I think that is a neat idea i have daycare and the children are always looking for a spot to write on these would work great enstead of washing the walls all the time. I would need atleast 5 boards. Congradulations on a great idea.

On the television show "Brothers & Sisters", one character had an entire kitchen wall as a chalkboard; I thought it was a unique idea.

I just saw a show on magnetic paint and it got me to thinking about chalk boards and if there was a paint for that too. Now I know that there are panels that can be purchased if not. So this was informative and maybe it will be lucky.

Not only are these stylish but they're functional and have a multitude of uses.
