Seriously?

No. I drink out of a glass (and not a plastic cup) because I like the texture of glass. Condensation be damned. That's what envelopes (or coaters) are for.

Also: re: the second picutre: weren't these featured as vasses a few days ago?

Last summer I did buy one of those neoprene sleeves for a water bottle, and it keeps the bottle from sweating all over the inside of my bag and also keeps the water cold for longer. Doesn't provide the same handmade look as the cozies above, but I'm quite pleased with it.

I use coasters.

We use coasters. Some of the cozies above look cool, but I wonder if they might get soggy from the condensation around the glass? It might be weird to have wet yarn or felt around the glass.
I like the look, though, compared to the neoprene beer can cozy kind of thing that's usually around.

i totally bought a knit one at a craft fair last week for my big gulp cup at the office. It's rather cute, it doesn't get soggy, and it keeps my hand warm when i'm waiting for the elevator. So I like it. However, when the lady at the sushi counter saw it, she exclaimed, in a heavy Japanese accent, "your cup is wearing a sweater!!" and burst into uncontrollable laughter. So I guess the reviews are mixed. :-)

I don't understand what these are for. Seriously, and I am not being condescending, what is the purpose? If they are in lieu of coasters, wouldn't a knitted one just get wet and transfer the water onto the table anyway?

I agree about using a glass.. I swear it make things taste better. I just use coasters or magazines, or whatever I dont need on my mess of a table.

I actually make these out of wool/acrylic blend yarn and I can tell you that they work great! It keeps the condensation on the outside of the container, so it keeps the liquid in the glass cooler, and it keeps your hand from getting wet or cold. I don't use mine at home when a coaster is handy, but I sure do use it in the morning for my iced coffee on the way to work, and at lunch for my iced tea. It's an easy lightweight thing to throw in my bag, and it's nicer to the environment than using the throw away paper ones.

Pressed-glass coasters, long and slender silver spoons and the cool, wet condensation on a tall iced-tea glass always reminds me of summertime at Grandma's house.

i don't really like it on the glasses (i agree with bepsf condensation on glass is a part of summer), but i use a cozy on my water bottle so that the condensation doesn't get the papers and other things in my bag wet. I just cut off the top of a cute knee sock that got holes in the toes and heels and it works beautifully.

How do you wash a knit cozy? Does it shrink? I think it would definitely need to be washable.
