Alternative Translucent White Lamps?
Good Questions

7-21-adler-lamps.jpg

Q - Dear Apartment Therapy, I love the milky, translucent quality of these white glass lamps from the Jonathan Adler Capri collection but would like to find a more affordable alternative. These are 26 inches and 33.75 inches tall, respectively, so anything in this height range would work well. I have looked for similar lamps but everything i have seen is completely opaque. Please help! Thank you,
Clara

Look for vintage lamps, you might not get the exact shape you are looking for, but you will be able to find a translucent base.
Hope this helps.

Turn the Ikea Salong into a lamp:

Why not go the glass-and-enameled paint route?

Buy a clear glass lamp on the cheap, get some white enamel paint, swirl it around inside the lamp (after removing the hardware, of course) and make your own opaque lamp.

Gorgeous, Dahlink!

I had the same idea as ktmmck.

I know Ikea also has some pieces in this style, but in green or black ombré.

I just went to Home Goods over the weekend and they had a ton of lamps in this style. $45 each!

I got a pair of lamps like this at Home Goods a couple of months ago, as dnice says...$45 each! My lamps are very similar to what's pictured: white, translucent, tall the shape at the bottom more rounded than either of the photos. They also let me switch out the finials with a pair I found on other lamps (ask, the finials are secured on the lamps with plastic ties because they're so often swiped, but they'll cut the ties with box cutters if you ask).

If you really love this lamp, then set some money aside each pay check and save up to purchase it.

If you also liked the blue or grey versions, there are 3 (1 blue, 2 grey) here for $155.54 each:

The gray is a warm gray, which they have an image of at the above link. Kind of a soft driftwood tone.

Here is a link to the ice blue color:

Don't get it if you don't like the color, just because it's a good deal. Only get it if you also liked the color. Otherwise you stare at the little lamp wishing it was a different color and someone who would have LOVED to have had that color at a reduced price goes without.
