This is just to say.... That as we were passing Tompkins Square Park these last few mornings, we noticed that THEY DELIVER CHRISTMAS TREES. So, in response to Michael's question of over a week ago, YES, here is a source for you if you live anywhere near there. (Photo: Ralf Grote) MGR

I forgot to mention last time that in the December issue of Real Simple there is a feature on Christmas trees by mail and there are some New York resources. I can't find it online but I have the copy at home and if I think of it I will put some links on later.
Hey man, I posted about that Tompkins Sq. outfit in the comments of last weeks question. Anyway, yee haw, someone else will carry the tree up those five flights, yes indeed, anything is possible.
Does anyone know anything about these places that deliver Christmas trees? As in, at what cost and what range do they deliver?
For those who live near the Seattle WA area, I own a new business that enables you to order a real Christmas tree online, have it delivered, set up, and removed for you... we even vacuum up the needles! We also offer wreaths, stands, and gifts to be delivered along with your tree. And yes, we will go up as many flights of stairs as are needed! Please visit us at www.treesleigh.com. Thanks!
Perhaps this posting is no longer active but to comment on the subject...there is a similar service in New York and the surrounding metro area. They sell better trees than what you find on the corner stands and deliver them to any apartment, office or store. For a price that beats buying off the corner and cabbin, it they will bring it right in. Theyll even set it all up along with everything else they offer. It looks so beautiful I only wish I had ordered a bigger tree to rival my parents huge tree.
I called to order the tree but they have a website as well, check it out...www.nycxmas.com
Unfortunately , Treesleigh.com, no longer is in the greater Seattle area, so the delight of having the big tree delivered and carried up the 5 flights is no longer! Anyone know of any similiar Christmas Tree delivery services in the Seattle area?
TreesAndTheCity delivers great christmas trees in NYC, Manhattan and the New York City area
www.treesandthecity.com
hope that helps!
Do not order from nycxmas.com. I ordered a tree online from them, was charged for it, and they never showed up. They haven't bothered to return my phone calls either.
In all fairness I would like to say that there were a hand full of deliveries that were not performed due to various reasons. However, ALL were refunded immediately. Additionally, any consumer using a credit card has the ability to file a dispute with there credit card company for any charge.
To be fair this situation was rare but understandable. Christmas Direct was inundated with orders before the Thanksgiving holiday and completely overbooked with our deliveries until yesterday, December 23rd. Nearly all of our trees were spoken for before December. A surprise to all of us.
Our customer support was called upon to be an emergency delivery team which turned into a permanent delivery assistance dealing with odd deliveries. We did not anticipate this demand and will make necessary changes to accommodate all of our customers. This was the reason for our lack of communication. We did our best to write emails at 6am or 12am, our only free time to respond.
With any service business there are errors and adjustments in orders to be made because every customer is unique. I admit, we had a few problems this year but we took care of them and as of today we do not have any disputes or problems with our customers. We were not able to assist every person interested in our service and had to stop taking orders so that we could properly serve our customers.
Our records do not show any customers by the name of Lila, of course this could be a nickname. More importantly the internet is an available forum for anyone to say what they want, true or not.
I would take this persons comments seriously but also have a mind of your own and atleast send us an email with any doubts you may have.
I promise you that we will be prepared for the 2007 season as we will triple our staff and number of trees that we purchase. We strive to provide top quality products and offer complete customer satisfaction. I hope that we can show you just how valuable Christmas Direct can be to you.
Mike is correct, TreeSleigh.com has moved from Seattle to Yakima, WA. If you live in the Yakima Valley, we are now available to deliver and set up your Christmas tree for you!
However, we have partnered with a new Christmas tree delivery company that IS operating in the Seattle area called "The Christmas Tree Experience". You can visit their website at www.xmastoyou.com.
I also have to sympathize with Mark Host. We have been delivering Christmas trees since 2004 and the first year was extremely difficult. We had a LOT more orders than we had anticipated and had to act quickly to make the necessary changes. The second year, we were much better prepared with 3 vans, 3 employees, and figured 1 hour per delivery instead of 30 minutes. Now, we are pros and have smoothed the process out to where it's actually enjoyable for us. However, a phone call should always be made to the customer if a tree is going to be delivered late or not at all.
There is no standard business model for Christmas tree deliveries and being the first in the US to perform this service professionally (not just a guy with a truck), we had to learn how to streamline the process from scratch.
