Hello AT,
We just bought a three lamp version along with another suspension light to be used for the entry way. I am now thinking about swapping the location of the lamps. I initially wanted to use the Fucsia over the dining table, but I am concerned that the heat given off by the bulbs will be slightly uncomfortable for those eating underneath. Anyone have any experience with this suspension lamp over a dining
room table?
Thanks!

I think its a great asset to the dining room table. Its a great way to keep your dinner warm...
Just wear sunscreen and you'll be fine. ;)
Discomfort is worth the price of beauty. ;-)
Here's the po' mans version:

And on the ninth day, God created dimmers.
(but, ps, any directed halogen light is going to generate some heat, not just this one.)
Thanks so much for posting the "po' mans version", YCH. I have been looking for a more affordable alternative for these!
we have 3 of them over our conference table in the office. any heat given off of them is not noticeable.
i wouldnt worry about it.
I've had three Fucsia pendants hanging over my dining room table for several years, and never noticed any increase in heat. And no burns on the kitties, who have been known to stand on the (now scratched) glass dining table and touch the pendants.
Thanks to apartment therapy for posting it, and for all of the comments to my question.
To Scott and Laurie, approx how many feet is there between the table and the pendant in your setups?
Secondly, I will obviously use a dimmer, but do you find the quality of the light to be a bit harsh as it isnt diffused?
Thanks!
We have two of these in our kitchen. I've never noticed a heat issue from them. They are on dimmers.
(Only one is visible in the photo.)

I used to have these in my apartment and didn't notice any additional heat given off by them, but they were really hard to clean.
