Where can I find a stylish TV cart with enough room for a stereo, DVD player, cable box, etc. that can fit in the corner of my room (48" or less). Thanks, Josh
And can we cook you dinner too? Could we start a radio show called "Apartment Talk" and really have fun with this one? But seriously, all the crap that goes into a typical television set up these days is overwhelming and media carts or shelving units can be ugly. We would recommend looking at GAD from Sweden for really nice stuff or the Blu Dot Go-Cart for starters. Anyone else? MGR

The Sony store in NYC has several media shelves/carts on display. It's in the downstairs A/V showroom section, and while I'm guessing they'd prefer you fill it up with brand new shiny Sony stuff, I think they sell the units, too.
Those seem quite price for a little tv cart. I too am looking for a tv cart, but can't justify paying near $400 for those little pieces of furniture. The search continues.
I don't know if this is too industrial looking for you, but I've been using a baker's rack for years now. It's cheap, strong enough to support a large TV, and totally adjustable. The look coordinates really well with my modern living room. The only trouble is the visible cord situation, but with my minor OCD, I simply twist-tied them together and strung them down the legs.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Whats good for hiding cords a bit, is this cord tube at ikea. So all your cords are in this white or black tube. One tubey thing seen verses lots of cords everywhere.
I've also done the twisty tie to the cords in the past too. Wish everything could be cordless!
Container Store and TopDeq both additional resources for cord control solutions, too.
wow, i literally sent in almost the identical question to apt therapy yesterday! i'm trying to find the same thing and just can't come up with a solution...gothic cabinet sells pine units that could theoretically be painted something neutral and non-offensive...but that might get a little country...and i don't like the look of so many glass/metal media units found in the basement of best buy...we travel onward...
I wish Gothic cabinet had a website :(
I like metal just not glass on cabinets. Icky.
I dont' want to spend anything over $140.
To hold a 32 inch TV, dvd player, vcr and 2 video game systems.

Eeeeek tooooo country indeed!!!
It's true. Why is this so challenging? I have very very specific needs for this - height, number of shelves, hidden storage space.... the only one I like is that Todd Oldham Dexter unit at Lazy Boy. It's really the best. But it's $1179. Anyone seen anything similar for less?
There are also some decent ones at Crate & Barrel.
Ditto I like the look of the Elements Media Cart at Crate and Barrel.
But I still need a bit more room. And I dont need to store my dvd's on my cart.
The marcel stand is too wide. The Latitude Media Stand, I dont need drawers. If those drawers were just shelves that would be great.
I'm thinking I just may buy some wood and make a make shift one, and stain or paint a color. I'm soo fed up. The prices are outrageous for such little amounts of wood they use.
Get yourself to Ikea!
I saw a great TV stand at BoConcept (on Madison Ave). It swivels and has a shelf for DVD/VCR/Cable box. It also has another shelf for Videos/CD/DVD. The size is just right for a NY apartment. Too bad I overpaid for one from DDC.
I originally sent this question a couple weeks ago an decided on the go cart rolling from cb2. It is great, affordable and fits my sony 36" TV perfect. Only complaint is the open back makes cord mgmt diff.
Oh I've been to Ikea, nothing quite suited my picky palette. But thanks :)
Gothic Cabinet Craft does have a website. Just Google it. I bought a really nice tv stand for about $200, and it is real birch wood, not the fake fiberboard. It's a bit heavy, but well made. I have my Panasonic 27" tau on it (it can hold a 32" tv as well), and there are two adjustable shelves. I have my cable box, vcr, and home theater receiver on it. I like it alot.
Hold Everything's (new as of October) Harmon media line seems a viable contender...
im going to twitch you
I guess it would really depend on the size of TV as to what to recommend and your price range. We've seen some really cool steel/glass ones by a manufacturer called Elite. However they are for widescreen televisions and the price tag is usually around $500-$600 in the stores. Very modern, very cool. A search online should give you some stores that carry them.
