Hello AT,
I've been looking everywhere trying to find replacement legs for a new sofa (loved the sofa, but hate the metal legs). I want some simple tapered hardwood legs like those found on the Bantam series from DWR or on any number of "mid-century" style sofas. None of the online suppliers I've found have seem to have anything but big clunky bun feet or carved legs.
Any ideas where I might find something nice? Thanks! Clay

I had pompanoosuc mills custom make a bed for me, so I'd think they'd make some legs for your sofa. (or maybe have existing ones you like already.
I'm not sure if it's just the area I live in or not, but my local Value Village thrift store always seems to have this type of leg in their "misc home goods" section. Actually I'm not even sure if Value Village is in the US (I'm in Canada)
Another option could be to check with small shops that sell MCM furniture, often the people who own them have a little stockpile of this type of thing to repair less-than-perfect pieces they find.
Good luck!
Contact a good sized furniture store that carries a couch with something you like, and ask if they have any spare legs, or know where to order them.
I got mine, very similar to those pictured, from eBay (however it took months of searching until just the right thing was listed for sale). I'm always looking for new furniture feet/legs and here's the best resource but they don't have anything close in wood:
http://www.diyupholsterysupply.com/Legs.html
And I've also had furniture 'feet' made at a local woodshop, there's usually someone in every area who specializes in turned wooden legs, and they generally cost up to $35 each (that's for very heavily carved ones though, MCM should be much cheaper) and the bonus is you get to specify what wood is used and/or wood finish. If this idea appeals to you, look in your yellow pages for 'wood turning'.
I have 4 such legs you can have. I changed them to stainless steel on my jasper from room and board. I am in Brooklyn Heights.
Try custom furniture builders too, there are a few in my area, and they've usually got access to catalogs for the trade with legs and can order a few for you (with a little mark-up for their effort).
Hi RBW, I too am into MCM and have been looking for legs for an old chair i'm redoing - if Aaron doesn't take you up on you offer of the 4 legs from the Jasper couch I would like to. Please contact me at my email address and let me know if thats okay with you. Thank you.

I will let you know if I hear back from him
Have you tried these guys? They say they will customize legs as you need them, and they have a similar tapered leg, albeit more squared out. Should be easy enough for them to round them out.
Sorry, forgot the link:

I looked at the site some more and here are those legs exactly as you want:

I replaced the chunky legs on my secondhand Room & Board sofa with legs from diyupholstery.com & I would happily recommend them.
George G - thanks for the awesome resource. I've been searching for these too!
Thanks everyone, for all of the great responses, especially George G... just what I needed.
rbw: thanks for the offer, but I needed 10 legs total. Perhaps someone else can benefit.
Sallie,
They're yours. How can I contact you?
I had this exact problem, and after scouring the internet for months I couldn't find the legs that I wanted (a lot of donut and round options or stuff that was overly stained and shlacked very glossy)...so as I jogged on bulk trash night I looked at all the furniture (ever ugly/damaged furniture) people were throwing out and if I liked the legs, I just screwed them off, brought them home. Of the three options I brought home, I loved the height and look of one, so I sanded them down and stained them and voila! Now I just need to get the couch recovered and it'll be PERFECT!.
I'm linking to a site I bookmarked a few years ago, when I was thinking of doing a diy project that required feet. I think the key term to search on is "bun feet". This vendor may not have exactly what you are looking for, but they do have a wide variety of legs & feet so I'll leave it for future reference. If I'm thinking of the right place, I had a very helpful email exchange with them. (So helpful, I decided not to take on the project!)
This is great. I have two nightstands that are now dwarfed by our new bed. I can just get new feet to raise them.
Anyone seen those legs from http://www.brownwoodprod.com/retail/legs2.asp#round ??
The drawings look good, but can't tell...I am having a custom retro sofa made (in two pieces) at a local furniture factory (4 feet deep for TV watching..) and i want to get cool retro, tapered but rounded legs for it.
DWR catalog EDWARD sofa has the exact ones...but of course they don't sell'em.
I have been looking for the same legs to replace my chrome legs and finally found these
