I've almost finished my place, but am left with one glaring absence — I need a modern white bench. The catch is, I'm on a budget. I like the style of the Florence Knoll bench, but am open to suggestions for something similar. Any suggestions?

Chiasso often has benches of this ilk, too.

Room and Board has something Knoll-esque. Still not what I'd call cheap, but it could be an good option.

these have always interested me... thinking they could be a nice pair of small benches.

... and, i'd you're handy, paint the legs black and source a cushion for the top... somewhat nelson-esque. unsure of overall stability, though, and would test it first.

Take a rectangular coffee table and upholster the top with some foam and white material of your choice. I saw it done on Home to Flip for about $60.

Overstock.com has quite a few bench options, many that are very affordable.

ooh, I want to jump on the question; I've been looking for a raw steel bench for an entryway that's under $500.
Any leads?

oakjo,
My husband and I are in the process of building a bench, and desk out of steel plumbing pipes (Home Depot), with a butcher block top (Ikea). The most expensive part is the wood top, otherwise - very cheap.
Maybe not the sleek look you are going for, but we love the aged industrial look in contrast with our antiques and modern mix.
