Hello AT, I want to reupholster this chair with a sheepskin pelt. The skin of the pelt is quite thin. Do you have any advice on where to find someone to do this for me (at a reasonable price)? Thanks, Nathan

It looks like that chair is heading straight for us, or trying to keep us from leaving...

I was just coming here to say that I've never had a piece of furniture make me think of the creepy twins in The Shining more than that picture does....

You should definitely contact Dr Sofa (drsofa.com). They are unbelievably talented, inexpensive, and fast. I had a large ottoman that they chopped down, reupholstered and cleaned up, all within 3 days (including friendly delivery guys!) Wow. Really nice on the phone, too.

I too am getting the same Shining vibe. I love an unintentionally creepy photo.

I work for a furniture designer and he's really picky about how we photograph things, because sometimes they unintentionally turn out weird. He calls them "scene of the crime" photos.

BTW, I didn't end up buying this rocking chair from craigslist. It was too fragile when I went to check it out. Although I did search the city for re upholsterers. Zarin's fabrics at 314 Grand street was the best price at $275 with padding, until the I found a chinese place directly across the street, who will knock off 20-30% of a Zarin quote.
