Good Questions: Affordable, Square Dining Table?

10-21-square-table.jpgHi AT, I am in the market for a square dining table. The square Parsons dining table by West Elm is a good candidate. Any other suggestions as to where I can get a 36x36x30 dining table at an affordable price? Thanks.

Ikea of course! Provided you are an Ikea believer. Their cheapest options are Melltorp and Ingo (you can paint the Ingo). But if you are looking for the Parsons style, you could go with Bjursta, which is almost exactly the size you are looking for, and extends further if needed:

And yes, craigslist is great. With some patience you might even find the exact Westelm table there. Good luck :)

The Door Store:

Am very happy with the furniture I've bought from them, and they're reasonably priced.

A friend just bought a vintage (antique?) one with the exact dimensions you seek. It's an old draw-leaf table, and I've seen plenty more on Craigslist or vintage stores/antique malls.

Not sure if there is a Value City Furniture near you, but I just bought a black 5-piece pub dinette table and I love it!

World Market (cost plus) has a few that are just dandy. I've been eyeing up a small square dining table for my kitchen too! Oh, yeah... and they are actually nice looking in person, too

World Market is the place to go. I've been eying up a few of the square tables there for my kitchen. They do look really nice in person too.

i love ikeas bjursta dining table. I got the large one in an oak veneer (i don't see that color online) from craigslist and its pretty heavy and solid- i was pleasantly surprised by the quality! the leaf mechanism is very easy to use as well. i love it!

they have a 36x36x30 for $199 and it can extend to 50"

I'll second the recommendation for the Ikea Bjursta. I found mine on craigslist for half the price and think it's fantastic.
