Good Questions: Any Leads on These Chairs?

4-11--chairs.jpg

hello AT,

i'm buying a 642sf fixer in kensington and while its too late for your 2006 contest... please run it next year! i'm completely inspired. we'll be closing in may and hope to be into renovations by the end of the summer...

the other reason i'm emailing you is because i'm looking for a lounge chair, one that was featured in a flor catalog. i just can't seem to find it. any ideas? either one in the photo is great, but the armless one is the one i'd really like to find. Help! michael

The last Flor catalog I received actually had styling credits throughout, and then some more detials consolidated in the back... is it possible you missed a credit?

(ps: from what I remember, a lot of stuff came from the Conran Shop, which leads me to believe their stylists are sourcing from NYC metropolitan area.)

Plus there's a number in the catalog, If I recall, that tells you to call that if you like something that's not credited, and they'll tell you what it is. :)

well the one on the right is reproduced by modernica. it is the OX chair by Hans Wegner.

The one on the left is from South America, I believe. I came across it a few years ago, bought it, and am actually thinking of selling it. Please pass along my contact information. (FYI, mine is a beige to orange color and is in medium condition--i.e. I had a leather specialist touch up areas and the skids have minor imperfections; it could use some work if you want something perfect.)

Michael - you have expensive taste. Kristian is correct about the chair on the right. It is a well known design by Hans Wegner. It dates from 1960 and still manufactured by Eric Jørgensen (model EJ 100 - see http://www.erik-joergensen.com/index.asp?id=4590). The current price for the authentic version is painful - about $6600. Hans Wegner was a superstar of mid century Danish design - used examples of the Ox chair go for $4500"+.

Sorry, but I can't help you with the one on the left. Good luck.

Sorry, but the link I gave in the previous post doesn't work. The correct URL for the Erik Jørgensen site is:

There is a slimmer version of the chair on the left currently at BoConcept, but the legs extend up the back of the chiar, It's very nice, but also much more streamlined in the seat area.
