Hello AT,
Has anyone ever tested CB2's "Shelter" sofa? The dimensions are excellent for my small apartment so I'm real curious on how comfortable it actually is. I like sofas that are real low, high arm and back, and short depth.
It is similar to R&B's "Porter" but this price is much better. So is it comfy? Is there a need for throw pillows? I would appreciate any insight.
Thanks in advance. Henry

Sorry it took so long to respond concerning the Shelter sofa. I did not get to CB2 until this weekend. The sofa was comfortable enough, but I'd definitely add some throw pillows like Maxwell suggests. Probably a LOT of pillows. I've sat in a lot of worse, hard, uncomfortable sofas, so I don't want to make it sound like this was that bad. It had some cushion and a little give, but again, needs pillows!
One thing I didn't like was that the sofa is kind of low. I'm pretty short, so when a sofa is a little difficult to stand up from, it is probably pretty low. And it is short (in length), but you knew that Henry. I could probably stretch all the way out, but I'm only 5'2". With the high sides, it would make things difficult for a taller person to feel comfortable.
The fabric was rather nice, a good neutral shade and nice to sit on. I wasn't too crazy about the chair, I felt almost claustrophobic sitting in it with its high sides.
Hope this helps!
Henry,
In live in Chicago and I was planning on going to CB2 sometime this week or weekend. I could try to give it a test run/sit/laydown.
Can't vouch for the comfort, but this was my favorite offering from the CB2 catalog which I devoured last night... a GREAT look for the money.
A tailored, channel-quilted silk throw down the back in a smoky lavender, two bolsters, and you've got yourself a John Saladino look for a fraction of a fraction of the price...
I'd love to know the interior dimensions/seating area of the sofa. Has anyone come across them (they were not on the web site).
And of course, like Henry, I would love to hear about comfort. So Katie, please let us know what you think.
The dimensions are on the Website now. Here they are Cass: Sofa. 71"W x 34"D x 31.5"H (16.5"H seat).
Check this site.
We have one . Very good quality and plenty of storage.http://www.wiederusa.com/
I know this is an older post, but what the heck... Does anyone have a picture of a real person sitting in this sofa? I think I love it, but itsso risky to purchase something without ever having seen it, or even seen in human scale. Anyone???
