Hello AT,
I need help in locating a couch just like this one from the TV show Battlestar Galactica. It's an armless, leather sectional. Looks comfy. Anyone know the designer/manufacturer?
Thanks, Amanda

This is too exciting to see my favorite show on my favorite blog... My eyes are tearing up.
oooh i love this show as well. i live in vancouver (canada) where it's filmed and my guess is that you can find something similar at .
i also found this forum thread where some people discuss the awesomeness of that same couch and where to find similar ones. maybe one of them was you. :)
I've just posted the link to the BSG forum on Scifi.com... Maybe the set ddesigners can help.

oops, i'm a newb. www.yaletownsofa.com
try Maurice Villency.
Since we are discussing sofas from our favorite TV shows (BSG being my #2), I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get the sofa that D'Angleo, Bodie, Poot and Wallace used to hang out on in the Yard during Season One of The Wire.
Just a hunch, I bet it's used, vintage, salvaged (80s?). The room is designed to look out of date so maybe the furniture is too.
I love BSG! So glad to see it showing up here.
This thread makes me giggle.
try room and board -- the modern sofa comes in an angled sectional option and also armless (tho i don't know if there is an armless angle...)
good luck!
I've noticed that cylons and most humans on BSG seem to like crate & barrel. I doubt they have that sofa though
Vioski has one similar to this. They do custom work so you could easily get this in leather!

They use a lot of Ikea kit on BSG as well. During the first season when Starbuck interrogated one of the Leoben models, she dunked his head into a bucket that's really a galvanized steel planter from Ikea. I had three of them on my balcony at the time. Kind of gave me the creeps.
Thanks everyone! I love the Viosky sectional... but I think I'm leaning towards Tiffany from Urban Leather (see link). I'll have to rename her Rowdy or Chuck though.
this question reminds me of the guy who did his entire condo up to look like the starship enterprise.
i love bsg. so happy to see it mentioned here.
Armless sofas never have been and never will be comfortable. Never. Ever.
My friend in set design got me this info to contact Battlestar Galactica.
Production designer: Richard Hudolin
Set decorator: Jonathan Lancaster
Phone: 604-453-6650
Fax: 604-453-6651
The couch probably falls into the domain of the set decorator. Apparently they're wrapping production today, so call soon before the office is empty.
Interesting Miss Terry but also incorrect. ;) The armless sofa in my home theater is comfyland perfection.
Thank you, Michelle!
Greetings to you all, and thanks. Glad you all enjoy the show. Amanda, I understand you are friends with Trish. She contacted me and I am glad to try, in my spare time, to help you on your quest!!
Firstly let me qualify myself, I am the On Set Dresser for the show. I work under the direction of the Art Dept. headed by Richard Hudolin, and the Set Decorator Jonathan Lancaster. I am the last representative of the Art Departement on set.
The sectional couch was designed for the show on the pilot by the same Production Designer. The Set Decorator for the pilot was Shirley Inget ( who won Emmy awards for her work on "X-Files")
It was custom built by the Construction Dept. with the decisions of shape, materials, and functionality falling under our category of Art Dept/ Set Decorating. It is plywood and 2x4 construction, with removable sections that have been covered in foam and then vinyl...sorry it is not leather.
The set in which it resides is very small, which means I have to be able to move it in order to create space for the camera etc.
If you are really set on it, I could try to find out the exact specifics ie: material supplier; however, the industry is constantly evolving, and there are so many cool textiles to choose from now.
By the way, it is comfortable. If you or any one else have questions I will try to help you out as best I can!
I am so proud to work on the show, this year every member of the crew got a "Peabody Award"
Hey, just because we are wrapping, does not mean that it is the end of the show!!...Hang on folks!! Season four is still coming...not gonna sell the farm yet!!
Happy Hollidays !
