Hello AT,
I inherited this chair many years ago. It's made of reasonably heavy gauge stainless steel with leather upholstery, and leather around the base of the pedestal. I figure it must have some kind of history, but can't find reference to it anywhere. It's big and heavy, but who made it and what is its story?

Looks like the kind of chair they wash your hair in at salons - a rather posh salon in this case.
Anon beat me to it. I was going to say it looks like a barber shop chair. The tools could go in the side compartments.
