Good Questions: Bamboo Forest Wallpaper?

3-7-maroon.jpgHello AT,

I want to find this photo realistic wallpaper which contains a picture of bamboo forest. I saw it on MTV Cribs in the bedrooms of the band Maroon 5. I also ran across it in one of the apt your site showcases in someone's bathroom, but I can't find the image. Do you know where I would find the name or brand of wallpaper this is? I know this is a really vague request, but I'm dying to find it.

Thanks, Tak

Help!! Anyone?

We found a few huge image wallpaper vendors with bamboo but nothing exactly like the Cribs stuff (which looks far nicer):

Maybe try MuralsYourWay.com and search for bamboo. They stock wall murals that applies like wallpaper.

Just got this from Jill:

no one I ever showcased had it in the bathroom, but David and Justine have it on their bedroom wall.

It isn't wallpaper but rather an artist that makes giant giant photos, one of which Justine stuck on the wall.
the artist is:

Enrique had a similar one from Hoem Depot but said you could get similar from many websites by googling for "photo mural wallpaper"

The house I grew up in has that wallpaper in the "billiard room". I'd be happy to strip it from the walls and send it along...

Yikes! It reminds me of a Denny's I went to once in Pittsburgh in 1985.

this appears to be similar - don't know about the birds tho...

Hey NT, didn't you like Enrique's bedroom?
I would never have done it myself but seeing it actually works very well with the rest of his bedroom. From the pictures he has sent of his other rooms and terrace, Enqrique has a very good eye and taste.

I don't think that the image is of a bamboo forest, which might be the problem. It looks more like a larch forest in the Pacific Northwest, or some other conifer forest in a wet climate.

urban outfitters used to have a bamboo forest a lot like that but it looks like it's gone from their website. click on my name for a link to their sunset palm tree beach wall mural instead.

Klenofsky Paint on Metropolitan Ave, just east of Union, in Williamsburg, has a big book full of photo murals for your walls. I'm not sure if they have this specific one, but they had a bunch. They were pretty cheap, but looked like a giant pain to install.

Tak. Definitely check out Home Depot if you have one conveniently located near you. Their prices are comparable to the online vendors; but they have a few sample books that you can look through. The exact paper shown in the book isn't bamboo (as noted above) and is available through one of the Home Depot vendors. The price is between $50-90, depending on the size of the wall. Installing is tricky since the images don't line up exactly and have some overlap (translation: a lot of trial and error).

JP Thanks for the props!

Try environmental graphics, they have one similar to this. I'm in agreement with =A= I don't think it looks like bamboo.

Yeah, I'm with =A=

Stop using "bamboo" in the search. That's not bamboo.

I would also try Room Service in LA.

I tried jumping on their site but for some reason I am having trouble.

Not everyone can do what Enrique does. The one above just doesn't work for me. Enrique's looks a lot better.

wow, i never thought i'd see my favorite pop star (i know, it's ridiculous, but i can't help it) on the only website that i obsessively click on throughout the day. today is a good day.

I hear ya NT, but your one liner made me think you were questioning why anyone would want tree murals on their wall. I did not realize that you were simply saying that you did not like the one in the picture.

posted by jamie pup on 2006-03-07 15:19:07

I was responding to the question, which asked specifically for that wallpaper. to be honest, I thought it was kind of fugly.

posted by New Tenant on 2006-03-07 15:33:41

OK, I didn't read the question properly.

LOL... Woo-hoo! "Enrique 1, Adam Levine 0."

Nice to know that I one-upped the Maroon 5 front-man in the wallpaper department (well, at least in jamie pup's and New Tenant's estimations).

[Photomural wallpaper: not for the faint of heart; and definitely not for everyone.]

posted by Enrique on 2006-03-07 16:22:42

I realize my one-word post was somewhat ambiguous :)

Enrique - I don't think I would ever have the nerve or the skill to to attempt photomural wallpaper. I wish, but no.

The wallpaperstore.com link that Maxwell posted has the exact design that Maroon 5 guy has (the second one down).

this is as close you'll get for realistic bamboo... i've been thinking about this for my place as well.

natura designs, based in brooklyn have other landscape murals... like a birch forest, ocean, etc.

check it...

naturadesignsolutions.com just announced that they are offering some of there hand painted murals for digital reproduction which makes them alot less expensive. Winter Birch and Aspen were the first two to be offered, and then one of the oceans.

It funny that I came across this page actually because I am an interior designer that helped Adam Levine and James Valentine on their rooms. You can buy the wallpaper from the store they bought it from called room service in los angeles. roomservice-la.com
i think you can order it over the phone.
i hope this helps you

this looks to be the exact same wall paper as maroon 5's. Maybe a little lighter but its the same picture, and its reasonably priced

I know the exact mural. I saw this episode of cribs too. The image that you submitted is "The Autumn Forest" as mentioned in a previous post, however, the bamboo that was in the other bedroom was this one. Good luckhttp://www.walldecorshops.com/AK1811.html

this is the exact same image that was in one of Maroon 5's bedrooms.
