Hello AT,
I am trying to remember where I saw a black "chandelier" made of paper featured the other day. I'm thinking AT is a likely candidate, but I couldn't find it searching your site. Any chance you know where I can get it?
Thanks a lot! Elizabeth

Urban Outfitters
hmm link didnt work....try my name.
Warning: I recently ordered lighting from UO and the packing was so bad that I had to send a lamp back (broken) and almost had to send the replacement back (physically sticking out of the box when delivered). They basically throw whatever it is you ordered in a big empty box and mail it...
I saw a black laser cut paper chandelier in the current Lucky magazine and clipped it out. The page (234) is sitting right here on my desk...
It's called the Helene Ige Silhouette Chandelier.
The site listed in Lucky is igedesign.com.
Good grief! That Urban Outfitters light is really cute! I think I'd need to paint it tho.
There's this one, too. Not sure it comes in black.
I found it: it's a mobile(not a real chandelier) for 59$ link in my name
Oh my god, I love that mobile. I need one. ;-)
The UO thing brings up a question I have ... is it hard to have a plug-in fixture changed to hardwire? I've seen several light fixtures there that I love, but they're always plug-in. Is it hard to have it changed to a hardwire pendant? And where can you have something like that done.
(I'm assuming it's something you're not to do yourself...?)
It's so easy! You just need scissors, and you cut off the plug! :) Then, you might need a canopy to cover up the wires/box. You can buy simple ones at HD or Lowe's. You'll want to support the fixture with a wire or a chain (since your cord is only held together by wire caps, you don't want it pulling loose).
Disclaimer: I'm not an expert. Good luck!
Go look in the M.A.C. windows on Spring street they are in the front window display.
Bridget, what do you do after you cut off the plug? what gets wired to what?
I have the same problem: have a plug-in fixture I want to use to replace an existing hardwired light in my apt.
Thanks!
I blogged about the UO chandelier and some other 'goth' fun. Search 'Madonna as Muse' for photos.

Today, 1/12/08, I saw a black laser cut chandelier in the gift shop associated with the Marie-Antoinette exhibit at the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park, San Francisco. $90 by igedesigns.com but not listed on their site.
