Hello AT,
Does anyone know of a cheaper version of the Sussex credenza or high cabinet from Design Within Reach?
Thanks, Arlinda
Hello AT,

Dear Arlinda, We looked around and found the Sussex for sale in the US only at DWR ($3200) and The Conran Shop ($3290). The designer, Terence Woodgate, is a Brit and you can therefore get it over there a bit more cheaply, but that doesn't really help you, we would guess. If you are looking for a copy or something close, we like the Thin Line Credenza ($2650) and the Tau Chest Low by John Kelly ($1920). We hope readers come to the rescue! MGR
Try the Kincaid or the Kyoto at Roomandboard both are $1,999
I heard that Kmart (yes Kmart) was designing a cool looking reproduction. It was actually listed in Budget Living a couple months ago. Maybe its now out in the stores....good luck!
I have been to kmart and have seen the sussex knock off.
It's actually great looking and REALLY cheap but i think it only comes in a dark sort of esspresso finish. They sell it in a sort of modular system, so you would have to buy 2 cubes to make a credenza, or 4 for a high cabinet.
Okay, where is this great Sussex knock off at K-mart? Can someone provide a link or picture? I can't find it on their website. Thanks!
Reef
buy the one on craigs and just remove the mirror!

This one here? Homepage > For The Home > Furniture Home Office if the link doesn't work: http://www.kmart.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=118034&No=24&Ne=561&Nao=24&pCategoryId=561&N=562&Nty=1&categoryId=562&gpCategoryId=466
Description doesn't quite seem to match the item. Closest thing I saw..

Keep a watch on Craig's List. You'll come across one sooner or later.
www.mdcint.com had something similar a few months ago in their 21st & Broadway store for about $1200. The finish wasn't as nice as DWR. Was in there yesterday, and it's no longer on display, but they keep catalogues.
Thanks for the K-mart link. It looks pretty good on their website. You could replace the castors with some cool looking metal feet and you'll have the same kind of look but at a bargain price of $129.99 not including new feet. I'm taking myself off to K-mart to check it out for myself!

Looking at this Kmart one it says it has glass doors -- how does that work, are there glass doors behind sliding doors? Do you think the thing would fall apart?
I have been killing myself trying to find a knock off this credenza (I live in Canada)... if anyones know the answer please forward!!
