christmas is coming and last year i had a difficult time locating a christmas tree delivery service in manhattan that would deliver to chinatown. in fact, i never did find one.
i have a large apartment so i wanted a 8-9 foot tree otherwise i would've just caught a cab and threw it in the trunk. i ended up having to drag it through the streets of chinatown and will definitely avoid doing that again this year.
any help is appreciated.

Mike, you lucky duck! An 8' or 9' tree? We are all jealous over the height of your ceilings. That said, although we don't know of a Christmas tree delivery service, we would recommend looking to your community and the spirit of the season on this one:
1. ask a friend to come out and carry it with you (have a drink afterwards!)
2. doing the same, but borrowing your friend and their car
3. call Happy Moves, which is a Man With A Van type of setup.

Maybe look on Craigslist. Maybe those Ikea movers wouldn't mind moving a tree?
Try ordering a tree over the internet....not kidding. I had a friend who ordered a beautiful noble fir from an outfit in Washington state and the tree was delivered to his apartment by UPS. I will try to find the name of the company that does this (they are also eco-friendly).
There's a 24-hour tree-selling operation situated on the Avenue A, closer to 10th street side of Tompkins Square Park that has huge "WE WILL GLADLY DELIVER YOUR TREE" signs propped up on either side of their biz... but I only noticed this walking by, don't know the real deal, etc., but worth checking out, eh?
I'm wondering if Home Depot might have live trees that they could deliver? They do in the suburbs.
