Good Questions: Circular Ottoman?

1-10-ottoman.jpgHello AT,

OK so I bought a nice circular couch from Storehouse. Hurray for me. I'm happy to be admitting to adulthood one purchase at a time. BUT!! Now I need a circular ottoman.

Something swank, something sleek, some cross between my inner bungalow and my outer graceful citydweller. I look all around and can't find anything! What to do? help if you have any suggestions PLEASE!!

Thanks, Matthew

We found that nice one up above by simply image googling "round ottoman" and "circular ottoman."

Anyone else?

I really like this one from Crate & Barrell. (you can customize the shade of leather).

This one from Restoration Hardware might give you sticker shock but could fit your requirement. Good luck.

A few years ago I bought a round "coffee table ottoman" from a little shop in Vermont - I can't remember the name of the shop, but the ottoman was by Modernica (I think it was "Impala", but it's been so long). I have it covered in a bright yellow fabric, but at the time I bought it, I had a whole bunch of options both color and fabric-wise.

That's odd... my inner bungalow came furnished.

You may also have some success Googling "pouf".

Seriously.

And try also the usual suspect Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. Perhaps also Gus Modern.

Chiasso also has some cylinder ottomans that could be cool in multiples.

Did you get the Circa 2 piece sectional? I've been lusting after that for a few months now. I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that it's really too big for my apartment and I need to move on. Anyway, in the room setting for the Circa sectional they show it with an upholstered storage ottoman. I don't like the fabric they have it in, but it is storage.

Try www.thechairgallery.com/
Click on ottomans. Many circular ones to select from. Call Sarah, the manager - great woman. Tell her you know Holly from decor8 for the sake of giving her a point of reference (I don't get a kick back is what I'm saying). Have fun!

A related question:

I'd like to get a circular sofa as well - but I'm really looking for a full semi-circle (ideally) - the one that Storehouse has is close, but it's not a full one.

I tried to get one from E-Bay, but failed:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6592695798&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1

Any ideas on where to look?

Thanks,

AM:

Storehouse's Cirque has an option for a third, armless section which would allow you to creat a full semi-circle. Their site only mentions the left and right armed pieces, but it's also available armless for placement in the middle.

btw, I just purchased the two piece Cirque (at half off from the Storehouse outlet!!!) and it's ALMOST a full semi-circle...

Laurie,

Thanks for the tip - but I called Storehouse and they didn't know anything about an armless sectional - even when they consulted the catalogue! Any suggestions?

Sorry for the bother...

AM,

That's terrible! Maybe the store people know more than the people at the catalogue? (The armless sections are definitely not shown in the catalogue.) I suggest visiting one of the stores if you can. I found out about the different options from Francesca at the Bethesda, MD location. Phone is (301) 654-6829. She even gave me a b/w schematic with all of the pieces, measurement, etc. but I lost it.

I preferred the armed version at first (shown in the catalogue), but was lucky enough to find two of the armless sections at the outlet in a shimmery green. They're incredible! They have a well-designed strap to hold the two together. Much more of a modern, dramatic effect in a darker fabric without the arms. I think the slender arms give it a bit more of a traditional styling...

Let me know if they give you a hard time and I'll post a pic ;-)

Good Luck - and sorry for the long post!

Laurie,

You're the best - I'd love to see a pic. If you have one at hand, can you e-mail me: thatnohoguy@yahoo.com? But don't trouble yourself - I'll call the MD store & ask!

Thanks,

Laurie, I'd love to know where Storehouse outlets are! Does anyone know if there is a list of their outlet locations online?

AM - Will send pic to your email this weekend...

Diane - The outlet I go to is in Leesburg, VA (about 45 minutes from DC). Here's a link to directions:

http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=14

The place is always PACKED with amazing deals! They have many couches, etc. that have been ordered in custom fabrics then rejected for one reason or another. You can take home just about any of their wood pieces from desks to dining tables - huge discounts b/c of minor problems. For example, I just found the Haywood desk at $160 because it was missing the keyboard tray. But guess what? I have a laptop!

Back to the original question, Room & Board has a 21" round ottoman, the "Rhonda" at http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/prod.do?pfid=978918&grpType=0

Currently marked down to $199 from $399, so it may be on the verge of being discontinued.

Fear not---Storehouse has got you covered. The Cirque Storage Ottoman is specifically designed to go with you sectional. We show it in a balck fishnet patterened fabric but we can order it for you in any one of 500 other fabric choices. Surely there will be one to suit your fancy--and fill your inner bungalow! Dixon

Hello all,
The Cirque sectional stored by Storehouse furniture is actually manufactured by a company called Rowe Furniture, called the Eero (the Cosmipolitan collection). They have a good website. Unfortunately they don't sell directly, but aparently this sofa has more configurations and other retailers. I've ordered the sectional in chocolate velvet! Yeah me!
