"Hello AT,
Where can I find a really big, comfy sofa? Not long or wide, but DEEP, enough room for 2-3 people to lay next to each other! Please help!
Thanks, "too cramped" Diana"

Forget the sofa issue, the BETTER question is "Where do you find 2-3 people to lay next to each other on the sofa?" ;)
Seriously, this feels more like daybed than sofa solution, but if sofa-intent, I'd say some of the Didier Gomez-designed, mattress-inspired choices from the Nomade line at the aforementioned Ligne Roset are tops on the list.
For the low budget option....
I was just at, uh, IKEA and they had a pretty deep leather set that was pretty swank and comfortable. It was surprising. It was the KRAMFORS line, and there was a set in the returns with a little seam rip at the Paramus store that I had a hard time not buying....

I saw this in a mag recently...liked the idea of a giant bed. personally i'll keep the hunky guy and skip all the little kiddies.

mitchell gold has some swell stuff these days. a little pricey tho fo moi.
my sister just bought the chelsea sectional from room and board - really deep (for her, husband, and two kids) and affordable too. nice and clean too - not a bunch of cushions to get saggy and hide crumbs and toys etc.
Check out the Ralph Lauren sofas. They are very deep.
On similar lines, any suggestions for a daybed solution/ethnic looking sofa? We liked the West Elm overlapping squares daybed (http://ww1.westelm.com/cat/pip.cfm?template=8grid&pkey=cfrnbed&gids=p054&cid=frnbed&area=shp), but then all the reports on the miserable quality put us off. Thanks.

Aka--
If you like it, can afford it, buy it. I think the reports of West Elm's quality are getting old, while their quality improves.
Plus, um, not sure who else beats their prices.
I just bought a sofa that I love, but it's tough for my bf and me to lay side by side as comfortably as his sofa. The reason being, the back on my sofa is permanent while his sofa back cushions are, essentially, throw pillows. When removed it makes his sofa super deep like a day bed. Looking for something with removeable back cushions might be the best solution.
Sure, no pronblem-- it's called a fold-out bed, you dope!

Restoration hardware has at least one super-deep model. very nice.
I feel like "I'm Edith Ann and I'm 5 years old" when I'm actually SITTING on the kind of sofa you're looking for. Trying to lean back on such a monster is no fun my 43-year-old lower back. I LOVE my sofa that must have been made for people my height - for sitting.
Having 4 dogs who love to hog the sofa, I am always on the prowl for something that will fit everyone. This is the deepest one I've come across, so far, that is in one piece -http://ww2.potterybarn.com/cat/pip.cfm?src=schi1%7Cp1%7Cwdeep%5Cssofa&pkey=sa1s00deep%2Csofa&gids=p6072
Here's one at restoration hardware it is 47" deep.
