Good Questions: Comfy Recliner with a Small Footprint?

1-21-modern-recliner.jpg

Where could I get a small but very comfortable chair for my studio apartment, preferably a recliner? Are there any well-designed recliners?

We visited this question almost three years ago: Good Questions: Stylish Recliners? And AT:Chicago has posted a roundup of modern recliners within the last year.

Personally, I'm very pleased with my Flight Recliner from Design Within Reach (also seen here) — my only regret is that I didn't get the leather upholstery. It has a very small and narrow footprint. Who else has advice about small scaled and comfortable recliners?

I have kind of a foot thing - I dont like them up and waving about the room - so I tend to prefer something that is comfortable, but keeps my feet on the floor:

Eames aluminum lounge chair. It's not technically a recliner in the sense that the foot rest flips up - but it does tilt back and can be had with an ottoman if you really need it.

The chairs pictured looks like they are the "Flight Recliner" from DWR.

We purchased one of these when DWR had a warehouse sale in SF this summer. The chair is very comfortable and most folks that visit never imagine that it's a recliner. The chair is slim and fits nicely in a small space.

I have a vintage Ekornes Stressless recliner and ottoman, and I adore it. It's the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, and looks good.

The profile and leg of the flight recliner has always bothered me.

My boyfriend wanted a recliner for our living room, but most of the ones I found looked like they belonged in a frat house. It took quite deal of searching but we FINALLY found one that was both sylish, comfortable and didn't cost an insane amount (The Flight Recliner from DWR is ridiculously overpriced in my opinion)

This one from Macys is super comfy and reclines almost all the way back, perfect for cat naps. We got it in the orange and it looks so good in our living room, not to mention it was in a price range that was reasonable.
