Hello AT,
I just found this red velvet couch and matching club chair. I have two questions. one: not to get too antiques roadshow, but can you tell me anything about it (like when it was made and how much it's worth)? and two: What kind of table should i put in front of it...

The thing is in good condition, but I could only find one label, and it's more about the fabric than the manufacturer. It says "ca-vel fabrics" and it promises a five year warranty.

Thanks! Jeff

I have a similar sofa & chair combo that had very similar red velvet upholstery. It was made in the forties as art deco repro. The upholsterer said it was quite well constructed, then said other things trying to get the sofa back upstairs.
I spent a bomb getting them reupholstered, and haven't regretted a dime.

I had a similar set, blue mohair velvet upholster and walnut trim, that I was told was from the 1920s. Your pieces look classic art deco. Could be 20s or very likely 30s. No idea how much they're worth. Coffee table depends on your taste. Unless your taste is very eclectic, I'd keep it 20th century American, which gives you a lot of leeway.

About the couch it is dam good in Antique style.
You should prefer the table also in Antique style that is fully carved.
I inquired about the table from the seller and his price is USD-1500 with 1 Kg Sterling silver hammered on it.
You can visit the link to have a look at the table at http://www.globalartinteriors.com/designer_coffee_table.htm
Thanks
