Hello AT,
Besides the Eames Lounge Chair are there any good modern reading chairs that incorporate movement (swivel, rocking, rocker-recliner) in them? With good back support. My sofa is comfortable, but I like some sort of movement when I am reading for longer periods of time.
Second Question:
I am an expat in China and just bought and finished my apartment here (1,250 sq ft). Can I do a "house tour" as well?
Thanks, Michael

Michael, As for your second question, absolutely! Send us your Chinese pics and tell us what is going on in your apartment.

It's not expensive, but I am awfully partial to my IKEA POANG armchair. I have no idea how tall you are, Michael, but I'm 5'2" and the chair is one of the few that both tall AND short people can find comfortable. (At least that's what my guests tell me.) The chair has a bent plywood frame and allows some motion. I also have the ottoman, which can double as a table or stepstool in a pinch.
The seat is cantilevered over the legs
Mine has the machine-washable ultrasuede-type cushion covers and they seem to be indestructible.
Click on my name for a link to the POANG...
I'm also searching for a comfortable swivel base (non-rocking or rolling) upholstered chair. Preferably one that doesn't look like it belongs in an executive office.
I'm a big fan of Ekornes Stressless chairs. (And a big fan of AT, although not a frequent poster)

They come in sizes for small people and small apartments. I have a black leather one that I spend way too much time in. Jensen Lewis sells them in New York.
new editions of arne jacobsen's egg chair swivels and tilts. it has a small handle to tighten the tilt mechanism.

Check out the Soso chair for 178 Euro. Super cool, and it transforms into a rocking chair.
Thanks for the responses one and all,
There is an Ikea an hour away from me in Guangzhou and they have the Poang and Linna(http://tinyurl.com/dqnnw), but I did notice Ikea also has something very similar to the sleepytime rocker picture above. http://tinyurl.com/ak9zs. ItÂ’s not available in China, though. Both Poang and Linna are possibilities.
Another possibility is to get a knockoff Eames lounge chair here in Shenzhen (about US$600), but I was thinking about getting a knockoff of the Eames aluminium office chair (US$ 70) too. Both chairs would be in my study, so I am a bit hesitant about having Eamesorama in the study.
Not Arne Jacobsen, but I was thinking of splurging on one piece of furniture, Eero Aarnio's Ball chair or his Bubble chair, and designing the room around it. The Ball chair though, would have needed to be a living room chair as the overhang of the shell precludes good reading light. I was able to have the floor treated like the shell of his Ball chair, and it worked out well. I did not know Jacobsen's chair could tilt as well as swivel.
A Simmons outlet here has a chair similar to the Ekornes stressless, but it ain't cheap. The Soso does look nice and reasonably priced. Alternately, I could draw up some plans and have a small furniture firm here construct a rocking reading chair. They use a really nice Indonesian hardwood. Undecided, but thanks for the good input.
I'll probably send in photos and info on my apartment in a few weeks time! Some furniture is still being delivered.
If you're looking for a great knockoff, I found one at Inmod, which I'm seriously considering. (http://www.inmod.com/eameslounge.html) They have pretty extensive info about it. They also have knockoffs of just about every other mid-c classic you can dream of.
