Good Questions: Googie Architecture Sources?

2005_1_3_question mark.jpgHello AT,

I'm doing some research at work for a project making doghouses in different architectural styles. I need good pictures of 50s architecture, the more googie the better. Do you or anyone else have any links?

Thanks! Ruth

This has got to be a group effort. Here's what we've got:

  • The Tricorn
  • patrickseguin.com
  • Southern California in the '50s: Sun, Fun and Fantasy
  • Ocean Park House
  • Googie: Fifties Coffee Shop Architecture
(Thanks, Ruth! Sorry it took so long...) MGR

    Ruth--

I had a book that may work-- Still looking for it, though...

I also know there are several books around that talk about vernacular roadside architecture (like the "Tail o' the Pup" hot dog stand, shaped like a giant hot dog, etc.) that could provide some interesting inspiration!

    Spaceagecity.comgoogie is the best site
and at Santa Monica College, UCLA Extension School contact Professor Schapa, she's an expert on Googie.
Also the Los Angeles Library has books on Googie.
