Dear Ria,

9 months from now we'll be able to help you more as one of next projects (July) is Apartment Therapy: Green, which will be focus exclusively on how to make our homes environmentally responsible.

In the meantime, we would check out our Green post listings, GreenMaven.com (a green search engine which Regina blogged last week), and ask the two best authorities in New England: Holly, from Decor8 and the folks at Koo de Kir, who run the hippest home store in Boston.

Anyone from New England want to add to this thread?

Well, There is a dirth of places to walk into in New England and purchase green materials and at this time it seems like we have to rely on alot of internet ordering however a new resource center opened up in Boston called Nexus Boston (www.nexusboston.com). They are more like a library/showroom and less like a sales center but it is helpful to have people in one place to ask questions of.... but then there is again the same problem in the end.

Perhaps some of us should get together and open a Green Depot?

I'm writing from Portland, Maine. I guess my comment would be to ask for a bit of clarification as to what you're looking for. I'd be happy to help you do your homework but New England covers a lot of area. Are you looking to build or remodel in a Green way? Are you looking for cleaning products for your home? Are you searching for locally/regionally produced products? Lastly, are you a regular "consumer" like most of us here on AT or is this request more professional in nature?
