Good Questions: Hemp & Linen Fabric Sources?

10-1-hemp-linen-1.jpgI've been on an exhaustive hunt to find fabric that is inspired by these vintage hemp/linen feedsacks. I think the material with the blue ticking stripe (at left) will go great with my espresso leather couch. Unfortunately I am only finding unaffordable prices via the net. I am looking to either buy pillows with the same look or to purchase some more affordable fabric to make pillows. Any help in finding vendors who sell something like this? Thank you!

We're not sure about fabric sources, but for products we would look at Mothology, VivaTerra and see where Transylvanian Textiles are sold. Anyone else?

NearSea Naturals has a pretty wide selection of hemp and linen fabric.

They've always been very nice. They also have clearance scraps that you might be able to leverage for a very good deal.

Loodylady on Ebay has the best selection of vintage sacks and linen by the yard and is an absolute pleasure to work with. She was a great help in helping me find 2 matching sacks for my sofa cushions and they look fabulous.

To save $ you can make 2 large pillows from 1 sack by splitting it and backing it with an inexpensive plain fabric.

Good Luck!

I don't know what your budget is but French General (www.frenchgeneral.com) has been doing feed sack pillows for years. They have a big selection of hemp items of all kinds, and they do custom orders as well.
