Hi everyone at Apartment Therapy! I was wondering if you or your readership could tell me anything about this cool kitchen table and chair set I have. There are no tags or marks that I can see on the bottom of anything. I am sadly considering selling this for space reasons but I've never seen anything exactly like it. Any ideas? Best, Dana

I have no idea where your table/chairs are from, but woah, they're freaking amazing.

Oh my god, don't sell- its awesome. Loan to a friend, at the very least- you'll never come across something like this again. Or, sell to me!

They look saarinen-esque, but I've never seen anything like those bases. Where did you get them?

Um....You should not sell that set. It's really great.
I love the base of the tables and the chairs. Even the yellow is a nice version of the color.
I agree with HLI...find someone to store it for you or something. I think you'll regret it if you sell.....or I'll regret it for you.
Really, really nice set!!

Looks like late 60's/early 70's Levitz...
...not that it isn't a groovy set - just that it's not a "Designer Name" set of furniture.

yes, looks like an early 70's wannabe... i'd sell it to one of the fans above!

I do love the set and that's why I'm torn on the question of selling them. It's just a pain to clean around such heavy bases - and thus I am tempted.
Other than that, I totally love them. And I really want to find out more about them! :)

I had a very similar all white set in the 70's. You could find them in any small town furniture store (hmm, they don't have those any more). The chairs were naugahyde and our cats poked a million holes in them.

Me want! What a fabulous set! They definitely have a saarinen vibe to them. Totally groovy!

By the way...love the kitty toys...where are the kitties?

The bases on that...the bases! I agree with everyone. Don't sell that, unless you're going to sell it to me. Oh man.

Seriously? Give these up because they are too heavy to clean around? Invest in a swifter mop and keep them!!
At a minimum, I would at least keep the table and replace the chairs with something easier to move. Look at it this way, if the table is too heavy to move, it's too heavy to get dirt underneath it :)

Hahaha you guys are all funny; I'm enjoying your comments. If I do sell it, I'll post to here first or send you fyi's.
It's just a little tight to get in there, the photo doesn't quite show it, but there is a counter that overlays the floor on the left hand side. The swiffer is a good idea, especially if use that new ceiling fan type duster. (Duh! - I had been using the regular rectangular floor one, and that didn't cut it.)
The bases are lifted just enough so stuff gets under them as well. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could put on the bottom of the bases to remove that space?
And the kitties!! Nene, you must have had super strong kitties! Nnaugahyde must have been very nice on those chairs, especially white - wow! - but ya, very tempting to the kitties.
My version is vinyl, I think. My kitties don't even bother scratching on these-much too tough. I'll link to some cute photos of my little buddies in a bit. :)

Hi, WoW!! I have the almost the dinette set! Same chairs but they are white. They are swivel and they slide perfectly into small rods that attach to the table. (Round Table and Suspended Chairs Pattened : 1965 #3262733) Originally the table was bolted into the ground. Very Groovy! MADE in 1969.I have a feeling the set you have is either a little modified with new chair base/feet and a modified table base. But maybe not! I'm not the expert, but just by the looks. The company who made this table is called CAL STYLE FURNITURE MFG COMPANY based in Los Angeles, Ca. They closed and sold their company in the 90's. Leaving no trace.
I do know this table came from a Eames Style Mid Century Home In Lincoln Heights, Ca, and It was a built-in Feature! When the family sold their house, sadly, it was removed. Unfortunately, It will not fit my small apartment dining room. Please contact me if anyone is interested in buying mine. It is for sale, and in Very good Condition. I am in Los Angeles, CA .
Thanks :) Hope This helped.
