Good Questions: Identify These Kitchen Cabinets?

10-13-kitchen-cabinets.jpg Hi, I spotted these wall kitchen cabinets in Brooklyn Modern by Diana Lind (great book by the way). All I know is that they are Italian made. Does anyone know who makes them? Thank you, Molunat

They are "Adel Medium Brown" from IKEA.

Actually, I take that back. They look very much like the Adel Med. Brown cabs, but I don't think IKEA offers those particular base configurations.

Oh well! If you're looking for a very close match, now you have it. :)

Why does it even matter what company made those specific cabinets?

Just take the picture with you to the Kitchen Cabinet Showroom when you go shopping and have the designer/salesperson help you find the cabinets that include the features in this photo that mean the most to you - whether it's the color, the door style or the handles - and are in the pricerange you can afford and have the availability that meets your renovation schedule.

Are you looking for just the wall cabinets? Or the base cabinets as well?

The wall cabinets are pretty basic. You could get something like these from Ikea as others have mentioned.

If the cabinetry in general is Italian, it is a very traditional line. The Italian cabinetry that is shown in this country is most often very modern in style and quite flashy.

But, you could start with Pedini as someone mentioned. Then try Arclinea, Valcucine and Snaidero.

I know there are a lot of IKEA fans in here but I would seriously question the long-term durability of an IKEA cabinet.

why? because you have first-hand experience with ikea kitchen cabinets and the blum hardware that accompanies them?

I have not seen anything similar at IKEA (I'm talking about the cube-like wall cabinets, by the way). I suppose they can be custom made as they are rather basic as you said.

I'll check the showrooms of the manufactures mentioned here. Thanks.

Here's a link to the biggest glass and aluminum door manufacturer to give to someone if you have them custom build the wall cabinets for you:
