Good Questions: Identify This Media Cabinet?

8-7-media.jpg

Hello AT,

Can anyone identify this media cabinet? I've been renovating my apartment this year and am ready to tackle the livingroom space. This piece would work perfectly with what I have in mind. I'd be much obliged for any help offered.

Thanks, Lourdes

If you don't find that same (or similar) media cabinet, you should look into having a local craftsman build you something similar (or build it yourself if you have a place to work on it).

It might even cost less than buying a brand name unit.

Great find! That unit looks great, wonder if they offer it in wenge...

Well we'll have to wait until someone figures out who provides that unit.

Sorry I can't help on the cabinet, but where did you get the black and white art? I'm looking for something like this for my apt?

rsw,

Those flower photos look like radiographs by Steven Meyers. I saw his stuff at last year's Photo San Francisco and it's really beautiful in person. Check it out here: http://www.xray-art.com/

DC, I'm hoping to find it in wenge too.

RSW, the black & whites are digital prints that were made into a screens, which cover recessed speakers. There are a few places that offer these type of audio-art screens, but I found these at artcoustic.com. You can choose from their portfolio or use your own art. I plan on using my own.

Thanks!

You can probably get something similiar for the cabinet at Bo Concept.

Just a thought... have you tried sending an email to the folks at artcoustic.com to ask about the furniture (in particular the media cabinet) used in the layout?

I also saw this on Onkyo's site a while back, it's not as massive but I kinda like it:

Pete, yeah thanks, I tried that but it's been months and still no reply. So sad.

Your earlier suggestion of commissioning a local craftsman is my Plan B. Wish me luck (gulp).

Thanks for trying everyone!

Lourdes,

I think the media cabinet is actually part of Audio Venue's showroom in London.

Here's a link to an example installation they did that features the cabinet.

http://www.audiovenue.com/installs_info.asp?id=82

It says it was designed and commisioned by themselves, so you may want to try and contact them.

Hope this helps!

ok, I did a little searching and I think the unit if made by KUBAN. I'm probably wrong but if you do a few google searches for "kuban furniture" you will find a lot of audio and hifi related sites with info about them and their homepage will show the current models which all show the same style and quality as the one pictured here.

Give it a try, you might even be able to find an overstock or demo unit for cheap!

Hey thanks. I'm so grateful for your help. This is the first piece of furniture that I've fallen for in a while and I so appreciate everyone's effort in helping me track it down and looking for alternatives. Damn, you guys are good! I love this site.

Now I have some googling to do...
