apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Good Questions: Identify this Sculptural Armchair?

2-26-domino-chair.jpg

Apartment Therapy, I need your help. While I was going through my old Domino magazine collection, I fell in love with a piece that would be perfect for my home. It's an accent chair that was from the article "7
Ways to Beautify Your Bed" (pg 146) of the July/August 2006 issue. I would like to know the designer and/or a very similar version. I like the color and style, and think the open back would go well in a small space. Any help you can provide would be immensely appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, that chair is beautiful! I've actually been looking for something similar (open back, carved rounded design) after falling in love with the Car Moebel chairs Holly from decor8 has in her German apt.

Anyone know of anything similar - thats not ridiculously expensive and that is stateside?

I think that chair is Oscar de la Renta or Barbary Barry...

Yup, Francis Elkins Loop chair. If you do a Web search with that phrase, you'll find many variations. For something similar, check out McGuire, Thomas Pheasant or Barbara Barry's designs at www.bakerfurniture.com.

And you're going to pay a hefty price for it.
