Good Questions: Identify this Tufted Modern Sofa?

6-4-dwell-mag-sofa.jpg

Hi - any idea who makes this exact sofa seen in the October 2007 issue of Dwell Magazine? It looks similar to the Room and Board Wells with the plain seat and attached tufted back cushions. But I can't tell if this one has two seat cushions or three. Thank you!!!

This is a tough one....it looks like a GUS sofa to us — but the lack of tufts in the seat cushion are unique (which also means it is not Crate & Barrel's Petrie). Anyone?

I believe this is the Wells sofa from Room&Board. Both the Florence Knoll Lounge Sofa and the Climate sofa have tufted seat cushions and this one is plain...unless it's some kind of customized piece. This appears to have three seat cushions..to me at least.

i agree with kristian--looks like dune's gorgeous climate sofa, which has 3 cushions. the knoll lounge sofa looks similar but has 2 cushions.

Unless it's brand new, I don't think it's from Room and Board. Those bottom cushions are in too good a shape, based on my experience with their products.

it does look like the grace, as mentioned above, but there appears to be stitching down the middle of the arm which the grace doesnt have- and the wells doesnt either- but i think the wells is the most similar.

I'd bet that the sofa in the photo is upholstered in leather - which would necessitate a seam on the side panel for piecing hides together?
