Hello AT,
I'm a New Yorker; live in Santa Barbara now; enjoy at.com; considering purchase of a bed from innovationny.com. Their beds have frames with "adjustable head" positions - a very appealing concept for those of us minimalist tendencies and a desire to comfortably read in bed.
My question: Has anyone had experience with Innovation NY: their products and their services? Thanks, Laura

I have two Innovation products, one platform bed (Zen) and one futon (can't remember name, model yr 2003). They are both a steal and are very sturdy. The adjustable head feature is great for reading in my bed or adjusting sleeping position. Each angle available locks in very firmly with little to no give in the frame. Very sensible engineering and design (this coming from an engineer).
Just make sure you don't skimp on the quality of the mattress you pair with the frame. I highly recommend their products.
I have an adjustable head futon frame and I wish I had inspected the frame without a futon first because there is a hinge that sticks up in the middle into the mattress.
Re: Innovation - I dealt with a furniture store in tax-free New Hampshire, I'm friendly with the owners (they refer clients to me) so I know they wouldn't steer me wrong (one actually builds furniture). Anyway, they both gave excellent feedback on Innovation - in fact, they have several models in their showroom that I 'tested' and they felt very sturdy and comfortable. I also know this couple well enough to know that they are very particular about what they offer in their showroom since they put their heart and soul into the business of selling high quality furniture. Based on this, I would have to vote very much in favor of Innovation.
I do agree with Greg, invest in a mid to high end mattress (they give you the option to select) since it is also what you sit on (unlike a sleeper sofa where you only use the mattress when you pull it out).
Hope my $.02 helps.
Holly
By the way, I 'tested' the Minimum Sharp in the showroom, I can't recall the name of the other one. You can order it online in various colors for only $829.00 (free shipping)

They feature other styles from Innovation as well.
