apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Good Questions: Is there a similar coffee table?

11-29-mercer.jpg

Hello AT, I have been doing some apartment therapy for the past 5 years. Each year we pick a room and fix a couple things to make our 3 room NY pad more livable. Finally I am very happy with the living room/kitchen - however I cannot find a coffee table I like. I finally found one I love at William Sonoma, The Mercer, but it's too big for our space. Do you know of anything similar (glass-chrome, mod but kind of deco too) which would come in a smaller or more rectangular size? THANKS SO MUCH, Debbie

Debbie:

Our first reaction was to try something like Topdeq or Bo Concept...nothing popped up with a heavy leg like The Mercer. Do any readers have suggestions or answers? aaron

Wow love that table. Haven't seen anything similar yet. it's a bit expensive for it but if it would be adjustable height to use as dinig it would definetly worth it. They have a matching dining table and nice chairs too.

Man is that coffee table gorgeous, and the rpice isn't bad either. Too bad it's too large for my living room! I'll help look for an alternative, if you promise to share with me if you find something similar in a smaller size.

cheers,
Chris

I too love the table -- and it is now "special" for $750. But it is too large for me as well so any smaller metal/glass suggestions would be much appreciated. Also love M+G Belladonna

but I am afraid it is too over the top... Any one have it?

thanks for trying, but no...
(speaking for myself)

It's the big chrome rectilinear stand that makes it.

I have a dining room table that has square chrome legs, and a side-board that has chrome saw-horses with a thick piece of glass.

My dining room is open to my living room. This coffee table would look very at home in my home. But it's too damn big.

Yana, as I've been pondering the coffee table issue myself, I promise I'll let you know if I find anything.

This has a bit of that bulky chrome feel, in a smaller size:

A seller on eBay from UK named modern-furniture-direct was selling these on eBay.co.uk but appears to be sold out of them right now.

This one is also about 2 ft. x 4 ft.
(it looks a little tall)

When I saw the last post from the eBay seller was from their PhotoBucket page, I just had a browse through their inventory at:

Lots a rectangular chrome pieces, especially on the last page.

I'd like to see the dimensions on this piece, but it looks to be a sort of mini-coffee table size.
