Hello AT,
Any ideas on where to find a sink that goes on back of toilet (part of the tank) and uses tank intake water? I think they're used in Japan.
We live in tiny tenement apartment with bathtub in kitchen and a small room with toilet only. It would be nice to have a space-saving sink along with the toilet.
Thank you, Karen
We post this question, without having an answer. We are stumped. However, we did find this cute very small corner sink if that helps. (Thanks, Karen!) MGR

I lived in rural Japan and had one of the sinks you talk about. Not sure if it is only a Japanese thing, though. I checked Toto Japan's website really quickly - they are the most popular company in Japan for the bathroom. I did not immediately see the sink/toilet combo, but I did see their solution ( a very sleek and integrated wall unit) for a tight space - check the link below my name/e-mail.
If I encounter a good link, I will be sure to post.
Oh, looks like the link to TOTO was added to my name. Whatever, as long as you get to view it.
I think they had one at the Buffalo Mountain Coop in Hardwick, VT.
What a great idea... I have a tiny West Village studio with a tinier bathroom... no tub, just a small shower stall and one of those tiny corner sinks that I can wash one hand at a time in... I wonder if I could get something like this and arrange for a tub??? Would be heaven on earth.
Conservation Concepts International sells a device that converts regular toilets to this kind of second use, Japanese-style toilet-plus-sink system.

I also found some other toilet by googling japanese toilet sink...

Yours for almost $5,000, but Good Lord it's sexy.
I'm too much of a germaphobe to sacrifice hygiene for fashion. The thought of washing my hands in a sink that uses the same water as my toilet is unsettling.
The toilet sinks feed water straignt from the same wall line that goes to your sink, through a tap and basin, *then* into the toilet tank. It only goes one way, so germophombes need not fear. If anything, you're making the bowl a little cleaner by sending some soap suds through whenever you flush the handwash water.
They have these little units, in stainless steel, at your your local jail - I've used a few in my time. The sink also includes a water fountain. Unfortunately, they do not have seats or lids, nor do they have hot water.
Search for "05-Toilet" on Google Images and the second result will be the Japanese-style toilet+sink combo.
(somehow this forum wouldn't allow me to include the URL)
Hello folks nice blog youre running
I salvaged several stainless steel jail toilet sink combos from a county jail. They have a button for hot or cold to send water to a fountain in the sink basin. This water drains after use to the toilet bowl. there is a seperate button to flush. As a previous writer mentioned they have no toilet seat or lid. they are very uniqe and extremly sturdy. When people see them they are fascinated (unless they have been in jail). These would make a one of a kind toilet and quite a conversation piece. I would sell them if anyone wants pics or info please e-mail mmerritt1969@aol.com

I have been searching for one of these too. Found this site. Haven't ordered one yet so can't vouch for them but they're pretty cheap, about $40 so I think I'll try. I think it says they're plastic though...
I also would like to find one of these space saving solutions... on another note anyone find a website that sells the japanese style bath faucets with the shower hose attachement...
