Hello AT,
I bought some great lampshades at the Chelsea Flea Market a few years ago, but I'm having a hard time finding lamps to go with them. Do you know of any store that just sells lamps, or am I better off getting lamps with shades, and throwing out the shades?
Thank you.
Rebecca

some stores (example: crate & barrel) sell some models of their lamps as separate bases and shades (example: zak table lamp). check it out:

Hi, Rebecca,
I know that Anthropologie sells various lamps w/o shades as well.
Good luck on your search...

Buy the lamp you like - toss the shade.
Target sells just lamp bases. So does Ikea.
EBAY. Most of their lamps are shadeless.
In fact, you can pretty much wire anything you want and turn it into a lamp.
Pottery Barn also sells lamps and bases separately.
Try also shadesoflight.com
I second the ebay suggestion -- especially if you have an idea of what kind of lamp to search for. Still, if you happen to see one you like in a shop I wouldn't hesitate to chuck the lamp shade it comes with (assuming it's not as nice as the ones you've got).
urban outfitters, also.
You could always CraigsList the shade to someone who has a lamp but no shade, to make the circle complete.
