Hello AT,
I am in need of a long sofa for my long living room. Patrick (the other one) suggested Mitchell Gold, and I found this great sofa on their website. Can you advise the price range and also let me know if you have any other sugestions for long sofas.
Thanks, bklynmoone

Dear Bklyn,
The Chester is a very nice sofa, as are all Mitchell Gold/Bob Williams sofas. Their prices are reasonable too. We would venture a guess that it will run you $3500 depending on the fabric you choose.
For 90" sofas you really don't need to look too hard. So many are made big in the US. Here is a link to our top sofa stores:

Lately, we have been getting great sofas at Room & Board, and you will find that they are even more affordable.
However, without seeing a picture of your home and your style, it would be hard to choose a specific sofa for you.
Anyone else??
i have a vintage florence knoll sofa which i love and highly recommend. the typical three-seat styling is 90" long if you get a new one. they are pricy, but you can definitely find deals on craiglist and ebay from time to time if you don't mind going used (like i did).

ABC Carpet has an annual MG + BW sale event, usually translating to 20% off custom-order upholstery.
Same for the wonderful Blue Raccoon in New Hope, a great source for all things Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
I have the MG+BW Rennie Sofa in a stone-colored ultrasuede. Cost was appx $1,100 (less 15% because I relentlessly kept badgering the nice salesperson for a discount--in a friendly way, of course.) Purchased at the MG+BW showroom in L.A.
We have the Hudson sofa from Desiron in 90 inches.

We have it in ultra suede which seems to clean up no matter what is spilled on it. And we love that the cushions are structured and firm so you don't have to spend every day fluffing the back pillows. It's super comfortable and easily fits 2 lying length-wise when we watch TV.
Ptoo: I don't know if you remember debating the merits of the CB2 sofa that was popping up on their i-ads recently, but I did check it out when I went to Chicago a few weekends ago. While the photos made me think it would feel too severe, it is actually extremely comfortable. It seemed to me rather tall, so when you sit in it you feel somewhat cocooned. For that reason, I actually preferred the chair (enhanced sense of cocoon-ment!)
Anyway, just thought of it when viewing these sofa ideas, and trying not to let the bad vibe of the contest get to me.
FYI, some of the CB2 stuff is good for the price point, but it is too bad they aren't live in more places, because I thought it was a really hit or miss thing.
What bad vibe? What happened?

Now I REALLY want that CB2 Shelter sofa!
Thanks for the follow up!
I took a left and right hand sofa I got on clearance @ Room & Board and put them together for a 9'4" sofa for under $1000. You can even hook the 2 separate pieces together and barely notice the difference.

It's $1899 at High Fashion Home. It's the cheapest I've seen for the Chester Sofa.
