Ikea had some mercury glass candlesticks - I bet you could drill the bottom (or someone could if they are careful)and make a lamp out of them. They were really pretty!
I bought some at target last year, but not sure if they still carry them.
Anthropologie has a skinnier version on their website (click on my name for link).
Here's one in clear, from R&B:

Bed bath and Beyond on Bway and 65th..(ish) had one last time I looked.
It's not exactly the same, but I saw this $10 lamp in a Boston craigslist posting. Maybe if you offer to pay for shipping and handling, they'll sell it to you!

Restoration Hardware also has a clear version. Link in my name...
Don't quote me, but I think I saw that lamp at Home Goods in Kingston this weekend. www.homegoods.com
I personally just got the clear one from JCP and am pretty happy with it. It isn't as delicate or as beautiful as the one I saw a week ago at a boutique in Manhattan for $2500, but I like my pricetag ($89) much better. They also have one that looks kind of similar to the one you posted -- just change the shade and you're good to go. They occasionally have sales for free shipping if you're on a really tight budget...

check out Restoration Hardware's website - I know they have a crystal one - but I also think they have one in the metal.
I'm from the Philippines and while I was home last fall, I saw the table version of this lamp at a made-to-order interior design store. I asked the designer if he could make a lamp for me with the same silver (not clear) bubbles and a black round shade. So I was surprised to see this picture on AT because this was exactly the same lamp I wanted the designer to make for me.
He was going to charge me $380 for it which I thought was too expensive so I passed. But I'm betting Plantation's source is that company in the Philippines.
i don't know how tight your budget is but you could make something similar if you are only looking to spend 20-30 bucks. buy a regular cheap-o lamp with a skinny base and the shade color/shape you want from wal-mart or target then go to michael's or another craft store and purchase christmas tree ornaments. you can look for silver ones in varying sizes or they have ones for kids' projects that you can spray paint silver or silver leaf. cut open one-half of the ornament and slip it over the lamp base. turn the cut halves to the back and you wont see them. obviously, you don't want to get glass ornaments. you'll need the heavy paper ones or pliable plastic. i guess you could even use those foam core balls for fake plants but ive never seen them used for lamps. i have seen the ornaments and it looks good for the cost. plus no one else can ever have the same lamp. tres chic on the cheap.
i remember seeing them for cheap (maybe $30) at urban outfitters a while ago, but i don't see them on their website. but they always recycle their popular products, and they may have them in store anyway, so i'd suggest just keeping an eye out for them there..
I got a lamp from eBay for $70 that looks similar except all the bubbles are the same size. It was the design find of the century btw. I really bought it for its super-cool artichoke-style shade made out of snapped-together pieces of plastic, and a year ago I saw the EXACT SAME SHADE sold as a pendant at Twentieth in LA - for $1300!
That being said, I have seen similar lamps on eBay many times (not with this shade though!). Keep searching for "chrome table lamp" and one will probably eventually come up.
OK, now you made me look and I soon found my exact lamp, under "vintage eames chrome 3 ball lamp," item # 110100654977. A very similar lamp is also available for $25 through Buy it Now, item # 320077921502.
However, the closest is probably 110086294792. It' spricier (around $100 with shipping) but closer in overall effect with 3 stacked chrome balls of different heights - and still way cheaper than your original inspiration!.
Sigh, my house has more lamps than I know what to do with and almost all of them are from eBay. You can't beat it for style on a budget.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for all of your finds and suggestions!! This is my first time seeking help from a blog and it's great!!
I've narrowed it down to the one from Target, JCP, and Ebay!
Like Kat, I got a pair from JCPenney for my bedroom. They also have half off sales, if you can time it accordingly. I love them, and they're much less expensive than the Restoration Hardware ones.
I saw the three to four ball style in a catalog yesterday. It was either PB or Ballard Designs. I also saw the vintage version at Scarlett Loves Retro in Atlanta on Saturday (Ponce de Leon Ave.).

I bought very similar from Target and they are silver, not crystal. You might try going to your local store--ours usually has random different lamps every time we go in--if you can't find exactly what you're looking for online.
