Good Questions: Mid-Century Styled Storage Trunk?

10-2-trunk.jpgI was wondering if you guys knew of a good storage trunk that would go well with a mid-century/modern theme. Just something for keepsakes and stuff like that. I like the Taka trunks at Crate and Barrel but they wouldn't go well except hidden in a basement or attic, they are just too dark and rustic for me. Thanks, -Mike

Dang, I wish you lived in California. I have my mom and dad's old mid-century Lane "hope chest" thingy in the garage just waitin' for somebody to love it. Why don't you look for used on Craig's List, or somewhere similar?

Lane furniture was famous for making hope chests & trunks, and I know they also made mid-century-ish coffee tables. I bet there are some vintage Lane chests that fit what you're looking for but I haven't seen one.

Is this the sort of style you're thinking of? In SF, so it doesn't help you much, I guess.

I just got something very similar to that shown, but without all the hardware, at a flea market for 80.
