Good Questions: MoonBeam Clocks Nearby?

11-4-moonbeam.jpgHello AT,

I really want a moonbeam alarm clock, from big ben. Do you know of any store in New York City that sells them? I hate paying shipping unnecessarily. I know Levenger has it for $28 and LL Bean for $36. Do you know where I can get one nearby? Thanks a lot.

Dear Sophie, this one's for the crowd. Anyone know a local resource for this? There's a ton online.

I'm sure they will be in abundance at the Triple Pier Show but then you'd have to pay $7.50 to get in to buy one. Shipping from a catalog may be cheaper. Dunno.

There is a little store that sells clocks just up the street from (east) Mxyplyxzyk (however it's spelled) that might. Another possibility is Gracious Home?

I got mine at Restoration Hardware near the Flatiron -- more than a year ago, though. I love it!

This is a wonderful clock! I adore mine. Got it a few weeks ago and find that it is beautiful to have in the room at night. Really easy to use, and effective without being obnoxious. I shopped around online and ended up ordering from Amazon for like $25, though I had to pay for shipping. Go for it, and enjoy!

The LL Bean catalog has the clock in three or four different colors; they were pretty reasonably priced, and Bean guarentees all of their merchandise to your complete satisfaction. They are always safe to order from.

After a long search for an alarm clock that was effective, attractive and fit my sensibility, I decided on this clock from LL Bean- I got free shipping and I like their guarantee. It really is an adorable clock!! I keep finding myself doting on it. They have it in yellow, blue, green and a sort of raspberry-ish color. I got the yellow.

I got my clock from LLBean, and I loved the way it looks, but I'm not crazy about waking up to a flashing light. My husband calles it "the headache machine."

I think that if the light bothers you, you could probably remove it pretty easily... I know that there is a special compartment for the bulb in case you want to replace it when it burns out, so I don't see why you couldn't just take it out for good.

See, the reason this clock is so great is that you don't wake up to some insidious noise. The flashing gets much more persistent the longer you let it go, though, so you have some control over that if it bothers you.

To the original poster--the clock is very durable. It's definitely worth the investment.

thanks, all. amazon requires $25 for free shipping and the clock is $24.99. my friend ordered it for me with a few things he was buying himself, so it worked out. thanks for your help!
