Good Questions: Rotating Mirrored Bookcase?

12-15-dwr.jpgHello AT,

Help! I'm having a hard time finding a storage unit that I think DWR had in their catalog a couple of years ago -but alas, not now. It's a tall, revolving unit that has open shelving on one side - and a mirror on the other. Any recommendations on manufacturers, sites, etc (have checked all the obvious ones like Unicahome, Hive Modern, etc).

Any help would be MOST appreciated! Thanks, DCB

DCB, we KNOW this. We've seen it recently in Manhattan, but can't put our finger on it right now....... It is for sale somewhere. Does anyone have a clue????

There is this one from Garnet Hill, but it's traditional....

Give us a few minutes....

I'm 99 percent certain I saw that at Crate & Barrel. I just searched the site and couldn't find it but, last time I was in the Manhattan store, I saw one of these somewhere on the first floor. And it was pretty recent--just a month or two ago. I stood there spinning it for a little bit because it seemed like a really handy thing to own--I just wasn't sure where I would put it.

Hope that helps,
Jenna

Oriac, when they were aroud, sold this in a few different forms (shoe rack, CD tower, bathroom storage). Alas, only their German counterpart seems to remain which is cairo.de.

They have something similar at Storehouse too and here is the URL: http://www.storehouse.com/store/ic280frm.asp?prodno=41EEY2114.50
The mirrored swivel shelf from Crate and Barrel is currently out of stock or so said the message on their website as of yesterday. Does anybody have more up to date info? Also, I was thinking that the Crate and Barrel swivel mirror would make a nice addition to a half-bath. Any further comments?

If not mistaken, Peter Fallico built one back in the "This Small Space" day. It's literally just a box on a heavy-duty lazy susan...

I find the space-saving properties a tad deceiving, though, since you need clearance for the corners of the box as it turns.

And yes, I also remember a Crate and Barrel version (recently) but it was definitely NOT a furniture department item...

The Crate and Barrel swivel storage shelf is a part of their Best Buy 2005 catalogue which can be browsed online at this link. http://www.crateandbarrel.com/catalogue/viewOnline.aspx?catalog_name=JulyBB2005
The unit is not on sale anymore, though I remember seeing it on the floor in their housewares section at their Manhattan and Paramus stores a couple of weeks back. Wonder why?
