Good Questions: Similar Chalkboard Landing Strip?

1-28-landingstrip.jpg

I saw this blackboard/letter holder combo in this recent post and I *must* have it. Anyone out there in the ether have any ideas where I can find it? Thanks!

This looks like something that we've seen at Pottery Barn (though there isn't anything quite like it on their website, now). Anyone have suggestions?

It's from Ikea.

IKEA! It looks like it's been painted white. I have it, and it originally came in a stained wood finish

More specifically, it's the LUNS writing/magnetic board. Comes in "antique stain" and white.

Yep, I have that too - from IKEA! :) I painted mine a bright green and I get so many compliments on it!

Add chalkboards in the kitchen to the list of "Stuff White People Like".

I agree that chalkboard mania has become a running joke here on AT (along with defiantly bad grammar/spelling), but this item is exactly what my poor ADD-addled brain needs.

Luke, I got that very same calendar for my niece for Christmas! (I know that's not what this post is about, but it was exciting there for a minute.)

To me, chalkboards mean dust and dust food = yuck. Plus, I just don't have that many things I feel the need to write on my walls!

Only in theory is a chalk board a good idea.
A pad and a pencil is more useful and you get to carry your lists with you.

Yes Ikea it is.
Regardless of what some people may sat (dewi!), a chalkboard is incredibly useful!
I use it as a calender, menu, day planner and revolving art display. It is great for the kids to practise their mathematics on too!
Lists etc written on paper are such a waste!!
Even more eco-friendly is if you can find a recycled chalkboard to use.
Happy chalking!

I won't keep one around just because it raises the chances of me having to endure the "fingernails on a chalkbard" sound.

I agree... something about a chalkboard is quite friendly. I like something that serves such a purpose to jot down items I need to pick up (AS I think of them - they're gone as quick as they come), phone numbers, notes to my wife, etc (they're also magnetic). This one is has nice sunken galvanized metal trays for chalk, keys, and change-like items; a generous space for mail, coupons, a/or paperwork (we keep our recyclable shopping bags folded up in there so we don't forget 'em!); and hooks for bags, key rings or hats. Additionally, it's entirely affordable at $14.99 - I looked at dozens of alternatives, none of which were under $40.

I just bought this today! I don't have room for it in my kitchen (and I'm not crazy about chalkboards in kitchen, either... though I do have a tiny dry-erase board on my fridge that I couldn't live without), but I am going to put it in my little office space. I like the fact that it's magnetic. And at $15, I could not resist. Plus, you can hang your keys (or anything else that's hangable) and store mail (or anything else that is small and... storable).
