Dear AT, I've been on the hunt for my ideal coffee table and just found it in the Dec/Jan '08 issue of Domino Magazine. Only, I loaded the slide show to find out that the table is vintage, and the magazine sourced it themselves. There's no info given for either the designer or the name of the table. I've been searching far and wide for just such an animal: I'm in love with the frosted glass (with storage shelf!), blond wood and elegant design. Does anyone out there recognize this table? I'd like to begin a quest for another vintage edition or it, but don't know where to begin...Thanks! Carrie

I'm not seeing blond wood - I just see Stainless Steel and frosted glass...
...but this table is similar - and you could have some frosted or backpainted glass cut for the top and shelves:

i'm seeing brass too. if you can't find it or something similar you can probably have one made pretty easily.

I agree with everyone who is seeing brass. The metal looks aged. You can try searching local used/furniture or antique shops. Maybe Ebay? Good luck in your search!

I'm with everyone else, it's definitely not wood. I too see my metal. Check out Desiron's alternative, Terra Cocktail (rust frame with clear glass top; $1,900): http://www.desiron.com/product.php?cat_id=2&s_cat_id=8&p_id=41
Desiron custom builds it's furniture...thus, if you have a size requirement, I'm sure they could match it. They are anchored in New York and now have a showroom out here in California (Los Angeles).
Good luck!

Brass has made a comeback in recent years, but it hasn't really hit with the masses (this is not meant to be elitist, but by "masses" I mean people who are buying from Pottery Barn).
This is good news for you. Look for a vintage table. Brass items are readily available at Goodwills across the nation! Most people are not clamoring for this stuff. Yes, it will take some time to find just the right thing. But you will.
And you can always put frosted glass in it. It won't come that way.

Martha Stewart's collection for Bernhardt used to have a table very similar. It doesn't look like she makes it anymore but here is what it looked like.

arroyo,
I see a lot of polished brass, but not much of the brushed or honed brass shown above.
