Good Questions: Similar to the JJChair, But More Affordable?

6-21-citterio.jpgHello AT,

I love the J.J. chair by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia, except that it retails for over $4000. Any idea where I might find something like it for less than $1000? I'm looking for a comfortable reading chair, with a light profile and a high back for head support that is not the Ikea Poang.

Thanks! Susan

What about an ikea hack?

Use the chair part of the poang but get a metal shop to fabricate you some legs.

How about the Kara Leather Lounge chair from inmod.
Just under $1000. They have a few other similar styles under lounge chairs.

That B&B chair looks like the perfect place to sip a nice cold San Pelligrino.

If you're in an area that has great thrift stores, start trolling them. I've come across similar chair frames while at my local Salvation Army. The shame of it is, is that they usually throw these older vintage metal framed pieces away due to rust or torn upholstery, ending up in their dumpster behind the building (my local Sally Ann is fairly picky).

That is a great chair, but way out of my range! I just bought the pad folding chair from Tiny Living for $69.00. It's very comfortable, plus it folds to save space.

if you don't mind sacrificing head support (this one has a low back): http://members.shaw.ca/lunarlounge/ply-bak.html

ranges from $399.00-$799.00 for chair & ottoman, depending on grade of fabric.

Thank you for all your suggestions and, AT, for posting. It's a great range of options but I guess I'm kind of stuck on the original design. If I start saving now, maybe I could buy it for a milestone birthday! :-)
